View Full Version : Wiki?

I actually am not too familiar with the homepage of the site as I mainly joined because of the forums.

I just noticed that there's a wiki link but...no wiki!?

If it's gone for good or currently "out of service" would be a good idea to at least have a page indicating so IMO as the empty directory listing isn't very comforting as it gives the wrong impression about the site not being well maintained, at least that's the vibe I get when I click on a major site function that just gives me a blank directory.

That's strange. I thought I created an index page indicating that the wiki is not online. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I must have removed it at a time when I thought I was going to have the wiki up and running. At any rate, I've uploaded a new, simple index page explaining the current situation.

The gist of my plans for the wiki is that it will be accessible through the forum itself. Members of the forum will be able to edit the wiki, which is great for keeping data centralised instead of having separate databases for the forum and wiki. However, I will be looking for staff to help create content for the wiki since it isn't a one-man job, so I'll post an update on that in the near future. I've just got to wait a little while for now since this wiki plugin is new and in development.

I should probably say that I haven't paid much attention to the main site, though, probably hence why I missed the invalid link. That's because I'm soon abolishing it and having a new one designed that is more content-orientated. I'll probably show a few designs on here so members can help me shape its future. :) It'll probably be designed from scratch with PHP from the ground up, which I think is better than security. (On the other hand, WordPress is amongst the worst choices for security...)

/me has noticed how many times he said "probably"—it's a habit he should probably stop.
