I was pondering on whether or not to do a journal thread but then I thought: 'screw it, let's do it...even if it's just a pile of pants about my college days'

Let us start with the Tale of the Stalker:

Long ago, in the far off land of the pub down the road from college, I was having a chat with a guy who turned out to be my stalker among other peoples. We were talking about girls. I said to him, as a half-serious joke, that if I disguised myself as a guy I would pull more women in a day than he would in a week. He, oddly, agreed with me.

It later turned out that he was a stalker, a peadophile and a sex offender.

He is the reason I don't like buses when I'm sat alone on one. But that's another story.

Funny to think that I was, somewhat, saved by this guy: http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/local/darlington/8871901.Rapist_DJ__a_serious_danger_to_women_/
I'm incredibly lucky that I didn't become a victim of the guy that saved me from the stalker.

I think I, sort of, mixed with bad crowds. xD

So, if I'm reading this correctly, that rapist saved you from a sex offender. I didn't notice anything about this in that article, unless my drowsiness played a part in that. So what's the story? As for buses, it seems everyone loves sitting alone anyway. Putting bags on the adjacent seat is a favourite pastime.

That stalker incident happened when I was 16/17 ish. You want the bus story , Mantis?

Random, potentially useless, information:

My little girl started walking on Sunday! And yesterday she walked half way across the room just to get to her big brother (or so it seems).

*place proud mam moment here*

Watch out for pointy and low level things that she might hit. But you already know that being a parent and all. Its events like that if it were happen to me would turn me into a shut-in, but I can't afford someone to mow my lawn for me. When I saw Blues Clues I thought this thread was about the Nick Jr. show.

Sure, I'll have the story. Congratulations on your daughter's first steps, too. How old is she?

She's going to be one on the 20th.

Ok... bus story.

Well, there was this guy who was interested in me, but I wasn't interested in him, so I asked a group of friends my brother and I knew if one of them would pretend to be my significant other if the guy asked me out.

Later I got on the bus with my stalker (didn't know he was at the time) and we were sat at the back of the bus. He asked for a hug, and thinking that he just wanted a quick hug before he got off the bus, gave him a hug... a little while after things got a bit weird to say the least. He asked if he could put his hand down my trousers... I said no, he kept asking, getting the same responce and he told me about this girl he got on the bus with one time saying that she grabbed his hand and shoved it down her trousers as if to impress me or to get me to step up to some challenge I was unaware of. I kept saying no until he got off the bus.

Several days later, the stalker was in the pub when I was there too. He just stared at me and followed my every move, which was creeping me out. I was somewhat fearing for my safety, so I told my brother, who told the rapist and he wanted a word with the stalker. A few minutes later the stalker apologized for staring at me, saying that he just looks at things... >.>

So I've been scared of getting on buses ever since, partially due to the chance that I may see Creepy McStare again. But I'm also scared of other men too, even though I have no reason to be scared of them really... -_-' It's not like every man on the bus is like what Creepy was.

/me is currently pondering the possibility of killing the fan characters thread with the EPIC FAIL Mary-sue character she had long, long ago...

I've been feeling a little under the weather (emotionally) for the past couple of weeks...

Ah, sorry about not responding to your reply. Crappy laptop's downtime and all that jazz. Actually, I could swear I read this and was in the middle of replying to it. That stalker guy sounds like a real creep. Honestly, I think you'd have had grounds for filing a harassment claim against him. I must admit, it's slightly amusing how it turned out, as if the rapist/stalker both followed some kind of womaniser's code and thus reasoned with one another.

Actually, your experience reminds me of something my ex-girlfriend went through. She had a creepy man follow her onto the bus when coming back from work on many days. In the end I bought her a high-decibel rape alarm, just in case. You should consider one yourself. When I tested the thing it almost deafened me. :P

Also, lol, which thread? And what's been the matter?

That guy you described sounds like a right weirdo O_o

I don't know what it is with some guys, even if they're harmless they give off this creepy vibe. One of my boyfriend's friends is... a perfectly decent guy, but he has this weird starey look all the time, and he stands too close to you. He came round one time to play poker with my man, and when he lost he came and sat next to me in the living room, and kept leaning really close to stare at my laptop. I don't think he's dangerous or anything, he just has no idea about personal space.

He is a weirdo.

I've only mentioned my experience with him. I've heard that he tried to sleep with his aunt, his little brother (I think) asked what sex was and his response was along the lines of "c'mere I'll show you" and he was caught getting a sleeping girl to give him a bj...by my brother.

wow. stalker and a rapist "helping" a girl out. that would make a unique movie.
but seriously, this is sick and disturbing.
what do you makes people (mostly guys) turn out like this? you reckon there are any patterns?
like too much porn?

i would think some kind of abuse would do it. i mean, it's natural for some of the upperclassmen to haze underclassmen a bit (especially on football teams). usually it's just embarrassing and maybe a little uncomfortable. but i've heard some stories of kids being hazed so bad that it would almost explain why they would end up doing stuff like this.

The whole "men watch too much porn" argument with regard to their behaviour is ridiculous. :) The fact of the matter is that whilst it's not entirely acceptable, it's much more acceptable for men to watch pornography than women. For women, it's sometimes seen as a taboo. My point is that many women watch porn but they express it far less than men do, for the aforementioned reasons.

Just a random thought but, seeing as though we're the Human "Race" wouldn't "Racism" actually be called "Speciesism?" Because the ethnic groups are, technically, various species of the human race. Kind of how the species of dogs work ... if that makes any sort of sense?

Just something I ponder when suffering from lack of sleep.

I feel so mean...

Why is it, that whenever I see a (Heavily) pregnant woman I have to fight the urge to go to them and say "Labour's gunna be a pain" ...?

I feel so mean!!!!!!

I just read what you said about racism. That's a good point! :D I guess it's all just semantics. I also have crazily random thoughts when I'm sleep-deprived. In other words, most of my life, then. Can't say I can relate to the labour stuff, thank god...

One of these days I will say it....possibly to my nieces or daughter when they're older. I was the quietest person in the room when I was giving birth the first time... I think I was quiet the second time round too. xD
My fiancÚ nearly fainted because he forgot to breathe with our son.

It's funny when it's over, and if you plan to breastfeed, and the midwife asks "Do you have a preference?" and your response is just to open your arms and say "Phlergh", pretty much not caring where they plonked your kid. xD
