Hopefully we're at the end of that. Though I'll still feel like there's no real closure until I reach that part of the translation. Update is here. (https://www.patreon.com/posts/11611793)

I'd like to thank the current patrons: Devin Crawford, Jeffrey, Lee Brown, Starwind55 and The Bag Cartel!

Wait. In another thread you denounced 'About Azell' and Gene banging Aisha and Suzuka as non-canon.
But in the patron page you state it as possibly canon.
Which is it my man.
Or is it a non-canon segment in the book which has an official extra chapter?
I was under the impression it was an unofficial doujinshi.
Gene, keep your dirty mits off Aisha

Yeah, I've been learning some extra bits of information as I've collected these chapters, so I formed a new assumption, but that is something I can't confirm until I've translated the manga up to that point. Sometimes with doujinshi authors might include an extra canonical chapter as a bonus. In the case of Takehiko Ito a couple of his doujinshi are over 4/5 about non-OLS things. Anyway, it will be a while until I can answer your question, especially since I'll need to save some cash for the help of a native Japanese for the extra chapters. (I'm using European sources for the main chapters.) Hopefully I can start keeping everything relatively on track but it'll be early next year when I'm at that point.

Did Gene not end up with Melfina in the Manga?
I know the manga and Anime don't align, but was their romance not a thing in the manga?

It's hard for me to imagine either Suzuka or Aisha having a go with Gene too, lol.

In any case, Gene better keep his hands off or he will lose them! :aishaangry:

From what I gather the manga isn't really romantic. Sunrise romanticised the series which wasn't a focus of the manga (from what I know since I'm translating as I go along), so you could say it's more lust than love. Melfina isn't so much of a goody-two-shoes either. Think of it as a parallel universe. If Gene did "have his way" it wouldn't be the Gene or the Aisha that you're familiar with.

I claim both Aishas (cus I'm greedy).
It's suprising the characters are that different. I suppose they must really be completely seperate continuities in every sense of the term.

It's probably my fault for thinking of continuities like Star Wars where the characters remain mostly consistant between different canons and different story arcs are sometimes canon to both and it's a bit of a complex mess.

But OS Anime and Manga are like two completely seperate takes on the same story.

Are the light novels canon to the Manga or is that it's own thing too?

The light novels are faithful to the anime. Up and Down are novel versions of the anime, whereas El Dorado Covered with Clouds is a side-story set on a planet called El Dorado (yeah, they had to go and pick the name of the MacDougall ship, idiots...) which Gene and his crew investigates. I don't know much beyond that but they're certainly in the anime universe. The only other media is the drama CD which has two new auditory anime episodes which I'll release in English (subs of course, lol) once I've taken care of other matters.

The second episode revolves around two mischievous Ctarl-Ctarl twins. :D

Faithful to the Anime, eh?
I think I might be more interested in checking those out if at all possible then.
After all, I'm invested in the Sunrise Adaptation first of all.
