View Full Version : Does music change fashion or does fashion change music?

A lot of music videos feature stylish trends and even more so today, designer labels.

With this happening, would you say the music itself is responsible for changing fashion or is it the fashion using the music that changes things? I know this sounds like a weird question but I get the feeling people use music as a means to advertise and create new trends these days.

Good thread Korrinkitty. I believe that fashion influences music and uses it as a way to advertise. Influential artists like Chris Brown make certain brands and designs trend all over the world. The opposite can be true also, so I guess it's a gray area. Music can also influence fashion in that an artist may just be experimenting with his/her words, and that may lead to the production of stylish clothes and mostly accessories.
