The world of the Mop is an interesting one indeed. Some days are good and others are just blahh. Lately its been more blahh ones than anything.

I'm 26 years old.
I dropped out of college, at 21, after two semesters and started my own business.
Things went well and I stepped away from the business leaving it to my brother-in-law.
I started a second business with money I had saved.
Things went well but I got bored.
Moved to VA, just outside of Washington, DC.
I've worked for some very high profile agencies and done work for some cool people ..got to meet Obama with some of the work but mehh, no biggie, but some good funny stories
Anyways, I'm now a federal employee.
..now that I've gotten past the boring stuff

I find most days at work more of a struggle than anything. About half the people that I work with are complete idiots, they create more issues than they solve. One of my coworkers formatted a server. He denied it and said the server was never operational..the server hosted the VoIP paging system for our remote sites across the united states. Restoring the server was put on my shoulders. I used some linux tools and recoverd files, in those files I dug around for five hours before I found the config files needed to restore our server to its prior state. Was there a thank you..? Nope. Nothing.

Work doesn't suck all the time though. I got to build VMware servers to host the services needed for the iPhone implementation that I was tasked with. That was a blast. Then I was told that due to lack of funding the build and roll-out of the iPhone and iPads into our secure environment was just a POC(Proof of Concept).

My personal life has taken a change for the better. I am looking at colleges to go to, or schools to get certs that I want. HUGE +!!

When I was running my businesses I had no personal life. Gaming, Anime, hunting, paintball, all were put on hold for my 24/7 on-call status. Now that I don't have that obligation over my head I have time to myself, time to hope on active forums and be my crazy Mop-self. My biggest change is that I now have my fiancée moving in with me. I'm planning for the future and doing things for myself now.

After typing this I thought "about time you put on the big boy pants" :D
For me, posting on this forum is more of an outlet for all the crazy i have to keep bottled up.

Now that the cold weather seems to be passing, time to break out the paintball guns and have a ball splattering good time.

Haha, well it's nice to get to know you, Mop!
Kudos on the businesses; I'm currently still looking for work :'( But I am optimistic!

I remember when I went paintballing once. Crawling across the fields and hiding behind trees... about to take a shot when I heard a scream. I looked behind me and saw my friend staggering and grabbing his arm. he screamed again and again. I took cover and fired back. Anyway, after the 'war', I looked at his wounds. Damn, he was on the point of bleeding XD The bruises were very colourful and artistic! :D

The world containing both mop and man, that is nice. I have never tried painballing before. I do own a softgun, but all I have been doing with that is shooting at cans and the like. This once, my grandfather asked me to load and lend him it so that he could shoot a bird outside that was annoying him! XD

You met Obama? That really sounds like the most awesome honour ever. 0.0 Your job sounds really important, too. I have never worked before, and just like Flare, I am looking for work now (just got done with all my studies).

I am glad that things are turning out better! :)

Where you looking for work at, what kind of work would you like to do?

I know of those "wars"!! They're a blast, running behind cover, ducking and rolling. The bruises and all aren't the best part of the game, wearing the right gear and at least one long sleeve shirt is pretty much needed. I got shot in the neck once from less then 10 feet away, caused a bruise and broke the skin, it was nasty. Thank god paintballs are only filled with food coloring and corn starch. Thats when we came up with a rule, no shooting anyone thats 10 feet or closer. One year we got our team together, one last time before we all moved away, and went to New York for a 3 day paintball tournament. Cost $1000 dollars to get our team in the field. We didn't play the entire time but it was an experience that I'd do again.

I own two(2) Tippmann 98 Customs and a standard Tippmann 98, they're the best paintball guns for playing in the woods. Air soft gun? Shooting pellets or plastic pellets? Those silly birds, some need to be taken out :D I love to go hunting, a month ago I took a trip to Mississippi and shot two(2) deer. One was 150 pounds and the other was just over 100 pounds. Shoot a deer you must clean your deer hehe. I also have quite a gun collection.

Met Obama when I was working on the Presidential Transition Team. When Obama was thinking he used to walk up and down the hallway bouncing a basketball. Other stories bout PTT but some I wouldn't feel comfortable putting on the internet. What were your studies, general or specific to an area of practice?

My studies were about deploying, installing Windows client operating systems, deploying Windows servers, planning and establishing TCP/IP networks, installing Active Directory domains, configuring advanced Firewall solutions and briefly e-mail systems. I think that covers it up in a nutshell.

My softgun only supports plastic pellets, but it's tough enough to give you a scar. x3 Would either kill or greatly injure birds. Often goes through tin cans, I think. 0.0;

Sounds like you've been having a lot of fun with a bunch of Microsoft tools. A server admin in the making? Over in Norway you might be able to find work with Lockheed Martin or Northrop Grumman. Their IT depts are huge and worldwide.

My best friend has one of those softguns, it freaking hurts!! He shot his little brother once, the pellet broke the skin and left a good little bruise. Hes also hot a blow dart, needless to say, people have had darts shot into them with that thing.. its kinda painful at first, then you look at where the pain is and theres a dart lodged in your skin..

Well, I'm currently looking for any Admin/Receptionist/PA work. I'm trained as a Receptionist. At the moment I'm applying to places all over my area but very few reply. I did have an interview that went extremely well and they promised to call me back, but they never did. When I called them, they told me the position was filled. Eh, life goes on. A job will rear its head sooner or later. :D

Damn, we should've thought of that! Well, there's always next time! :D I'd love to go to a large paintball tournament, but I don't have that kind of money XD
