    Artwork for My Novel/Universe

So I'm a writer and the project I'm currently working on is a space fantasy! I love commissioning artists for my WIPs, so I made sure to get some for Frontiersman- and I'll be getting plenty more.

So my main character, Niko, has gotten a character sheet done by Pat Mulholland, a comic artist!

The sketch of Niko fan firing his weapon, Legacy Song, was done by a good friend of mine and great artist who goes by DarcyBabs on social media! She's done a lot of work for my other projects too.

And then the design of Niko's weapon was done by an artist named Lloyd Drake-Brockman who did a fantastic job!

Niko? Why did that give me some crazy flashbacks?

Seriously though, this artwork is great. Legacy Song is a real catchy gun name. I share your interest in commissioning art. I know of some good artists, although they usually draw anime fan art. I like what you've got there and look forward to seeing more.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Impressive stuff. Having some genuine art completed is more than most people can say about their projects. Having some commissioned work is what first tends to elevate things from a hobby to a real project or job in my experience. I'm one of the forums 2 resident gun enthusiasts so I really appreciate the design of Legacy Song. It's rather tasteful and practical-looking, which is refreshing for a sci-fi project. Does it shoot normal bullets?

Thanks! I'm currently outlining the first novel and I've already got a few short stories for the anthology written. Plus a bunch of lore. I'm thinking about starting a YouTube channel doing some lore readings, character profiles, short story series, etc. I also roped a friend of mine into doing an in-universe broadcast show sort of like in Fallout- figuring that'd be a fun way to deliver some storytelling in the form of news broadcasts lol.

Thanks, I'm glad you like the design.

Niko comes from a culture of humans called The Dunver who are gunslingers at heart lol. Every Dunver has an Iron and Legacy Song is the Iron that Niko and a gunsmith crafted when he came of age. Pretty much never leaves his side and he's an artist with that thing lol

But yes, it does shoot normal bullets, or "slugs" that have a lot of stopping power. He's also got a pump action shotgun that can fire different rounds with a variety of effects(definitely some Caster inspiration there- minus the magic I guess) that'll also usually get the job done lol.
