Could the world function if everyone had a super-power?

As humans, we're preety limited in our physical abilities, We can be killed so easily, but what if that changed? What if we lived in a world where everyone had a super power? Would the world be a better place or worse than it already is?

That could do some good for some people and I'm sure some would have good intentions with there powers such as super genius abilities to find cures for diseases, etc. but overall not everyone is the same and would use them for selfish reasons and to do harm. I think it would create udder destruction, chaos, and ruin the balance of things even more.

Terrible idea with all sorts of potentially planet-busting infights over something as lousy as "who ate the last slice of bread".

And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

If I tell you, you have to be the 'Krillin' of the group.

No. You get Krillin; take it or leave it!

I'll leave it, thank you. I was actually trying to think of moments in the series where Krillin was even slightly cool, so I could be Krillin from a good period, but him being cool never lasts for more than a few seconds.

RE: Could the world function if everyone had a super-power?

A novel idea, but alas, it would not work. Even as simple human beings who aren't really very powerful without a firearm, we're often at war with much of the world over petty problems or greed.

Imagine if the Japanese had the ability to fly and became kamikaze humans without the use of planes?

Although that ability is pretty useless if you're able to make yourself invisible.

Not so good if you're against somebody with the ability of pyrokinesis, however. Your form would still exist, so all one with this ability would need to do is set everything around him/her alight.

Sucks to be you. Your opponent can breathe underwater.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pP23YHFtAo

What good is any of this if an opponent can manipulate time and kill you before you activated the power?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqtSKkyJgFM

What good is anything if you're at war against an army of soldiers whose bodies erupt nuclear explosions when badly wounded?

tl;dr, this would only rapidly speed up the inevitable self-destruction of the human race.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"
