I think this is partially true, and partially false. I'm no fan of conspiracy theories, but I think that pharmaceutical companies and corporations are more concerned about money than treatments. Of course, I know that people will sometimes use this as a means of selling their own brand of snake oil. I worked at a "holistic dental boutique" during the summer of 2016, and the whole place--aside from making you feel like you've stepped back into the 90s--is full of stuff regarding how toxic fluoride is, how the mercury in vaccines causes autism (yes, they really believed that), and other things that I regard as nonsense. It was basically alternative medicine claptrap.
