    Reddit's Mistake

I am not sure if people here have heard what was going on but Reddit had hired a known pedo and pedo-enabler to be a mod on the platform. This person was a trans-activist and was part of the Green party in the UK where he signed on a man with a sexual assault record who later went to prison for 22 years over rape charges of a 10-year-old girl. This girl was kept in the attic of the house these two guys shared. The dude's name is Aimee Knight and I don't care to call him a he because he is sicko. His husband even wrote sexualized stories involving children.

People on Reddit found out and they started mass banning and blocking members in every board so people started protesting by making sections private. They finally did fire this sick person but their excuse, I am not buying it. He is a public figure and they claim to have not known. It literally takes one google search to see the kind of person they are. Hello!

Anyways... What are your thoughts on this?

Some people are saying they are not surprised because a lot of mods and people in charge of the platform are pedo or pedo-enablers. I don't personally use Reddit and I am sure this is being exaggerated but at this point... you never know.

    Touche. LOL

I actually heard this response when talking about this with other people. That is quite hilarious but yeah.. It seems like this is just a terrible platform filled with people who think they are better than everyone else.

Edit: Disregard what I'd written. Originally I said that without concrete proof it's tricky for me to outright denounce Aimee's actions. After all, from the information I had at the time it seemed that it's possible it was a case of association with the wrong kind of people.

Make no mistake. I still think that the mob mentality that has taken place is cancel culture. But after seeing the Kiwi Farms thread I saw more than enough evidence (far more than I wanted, it's disgusting) for me to say it was justified. Ashton or "Aimee" is a horrible person and I don't feel a shred of sympathy.

I still do wonder where the line is drawn, though. At what point is cancellation justified? I think this was. I must admit that I feel cancel culture isn't a wholly evil thing and sometimes a necessary evil. Does that make it hypocrisy for me to call it out under different circumstances?

Please excuse me while I go chuck up after seeing the truth about that... thing.

I didn't see what you originally put but I would assume you took the stance of targeting and canceling someone without valid proof or targeting trans people is wrong with these accusations. I am shocked I didn't hear about this mess sooner but they probably hushed it as best they could. I know a lot of trans people are targeted as pedophiles because, in recent years, many who said they were trans got busted ended up either having child pornography or were directly linked to child abuse. I would hope that trans communities keep an eye out for these types and do everything in their power to distance themselves from them. On the other point... I think doxing, mass harassment, and anything of the sort is wrong but when Reddit was trying to suppress everyone from talking about it, I think it warranted them to take action. It is a mess and I am glad I am not part of that site.
