Should we stop all flights incoming from China?

By we, I mean the US or whatever country you are from.

It seems like China is not taking things seriously enough and if people really want to prevent the virus from spreading to different countries, it only makes sense to stop all flights coming out of China for the time being. At least until they get things under control.

    Thoughts?

Agreed. That's all there is to say, really.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

I hear that the coronavirus has only proven a fraction as dangerous as SARS was, in terms of deaths anyway. It seems just as dangerous because of how the media exaggerates news even more than they used to, and there's now a much bigger platform to deliver this news.

If we had memes in 2003 I'd have probably have heard a lot about SARS at the time, but the way we consume data nowadays can cause a lot of unwarranted distress.

I'm not saying we shouldn't worry about the coronavirus but many seem to be taking it too far.

I've seen some people online spreading fake scare news about it as well. You are still more likely to get the standard yearly flu in the US than this virus yet people are acting like it is the next big plague. Well, not everyone but enough people are to scare other people who are gullible.

It's a nothingburger, but it does have a higher mortality rate than the regular flu (if not a higher chance to spread). Still, your only chance to die from it is being old and weak in the first place kind of like the flu. I've never contracted the flu so I'm not terribly worried about it either way. I have a heavy suspicion that I'm among the small part of the population that is immune to the regular flu (or rather highly, highly resistant). While it's less fatal than SARS I think Corona has killed a similar number of people in a much shorter timeframe. I'm not following it very closely until there are a larger number of cases in the USA. What am I supposed to do about it anyway?

Edit: As a power-move, we should ban all flights from China but double flights INTO China.

First, such an extreme measure is impossible, second it would be (if i get your idea of limiting china's exports to the minimum) more than a few planes (as to say, a full blocus), third the economic backfire would make corona look like child's play.
Also, even though the Numbers are what they are, it doesn't look like that big of a deal to me, nothing more than an epidemic among others.
I think it will be just like H1N1, a planetwide jupscare (if you get the idea), but Nothing more. A vaccination campaign (or not because as of today i doubt there's a vaccine/cure yet) and it's done. The only real threat to populations and nations here are the media. They have found a new ephemeral jackpot they will exploit until their greedy irresponsible behavior creates more problems than the virus itself. They will continue capitalizing on that for a moment, and then find new fresh meat. Also, it's already caused, here, a huge rise of racism towards asian people, and that says a lot about what i just said.

Long story short, different day, same old shit. And good luck to hypochondriacs !

The racist thing isn't right and I never understood where people's minds go with something like this. We have Chinese food joints all over around by me and if anyone acted racist towards them over this, they would only be showing their own ignorance to the situation.

And the same goes for travelers. Just because a person is Chinese and traveling doesn't mean they are infected with anything.

Some are saying nothing it being done in China, others are saying there is nothing to be done just wait it out. The media really paints 10 different stories these days.

I was gonna make more Corona jokes but let me be serious for the first time in forever and say that vape mods from AliExpress are a really bad idea if you genuinely bought that. Even good vape mods have wonky electronics a lot of the time (mine included), but the real cheapo ones have awful circuit boards and if you charge it via USB they run the risk of frying themselves or getting super suuuuper hot. If you want to go with a cheap one, I'd recommend investing in a wall-charger for your batteries rather than charging them through the mod via USB.

But to answer your question: yes, vaping IS one of the most flavorful ways to introduce Coronavirus to your system.
