Thread: Trump bashing

Whether or not your American, and whether or not you voted for him, do you think the Trump bashing is out of hand? I thought some of it might have calmed down by now, but apparently there is no end in sight.

I don't think people should wish harm on the president, no matter who holds the office. We even have lawmakers saying such terrible things.

I agree with free speech, but come on. Where do you draw the line? When a lawmaker says she wants the pres assassinated, I think that's going way too far. What a terrible example set for the people.

Disagree with him all you want, but let's at least be reasonable!

It is disrespectful of him and the country. Do I like everything he says or does, no but it is an utter embarrassment to see people, US CITIZENS using #NotMyPresident these precious flowers need to get fertilized and get over it. They are only making the country look horrible and childish. I didn't vote for the guy but since he is my president, I will respect him just like I respect Obama and I couldn't stand that guy either.

I'm just stunned by some of the things I've heard. Sadly, it's not just the one person wishing him the worst fate. Several on the left have said such things (although they usually try to walk it back after the fact). Where are the secret service investigations? You know there would be if it were the other way around, as it should be in all cases.

I don't get "offended" easily, but there are just some things one should never say.

Personally, I think everyone is entitled to their own individual opinion regarding anyone. I don't care about what anyone say of Trump, he has been my man even before he took office and will always still be my man right now in office and after his tenure.

Trump has been the most real man for me to have taken the White House. I love men with strong character. They follow their heart and most times, they are not wrong. Americans are good with hating, I could easily careless about it. Their hate doesn't change anything.

I didn't agree with what that lawmaker said. Lol, just creating sensationally leaning news and riling up their party for relevance. I don't agree with most of the things the president says or does but, i don't follow politics much now anymore lol. One thing I did like is that he and Bernie were opposed to the TPP. It's nice to have this break from politics. All I have to say is, free speech is free speech. I like the radical free speech about my country lol. Otherwise, we'd never be able to talk about the hard stuff. If you say bad shit about your home country in other countries, its such a social taboo. Here, we can criticize a lot. Except, when I'm around hard patriots lol. Like there are so many things I like about other countries that isn't here and vice versa.

Yeah, keeping the base riled up seems to be the name of the game. Both sides do it, but I just felt in this case, it was extreme. Too extreme.

I agree that free speech is a good thing. I have plenty to say about my country, even though I still think it's the best one, even if it isn't perfect. I just think threatening language crosses the line. With so many people saying such things, it could incite some crazy person to take action.

I disagree because I'm sure a lot of Trump supporters would do the same if Hilary had won instead of Trump. I am in the United Kingdom by the way. I don't like him and I don't like some of the things he has done already. I'm sure a lot of Americans feel the same way. But I do think he will be a decent president because unlike the others, he doesn't care what the public thinks of him. He will do what he thinks is right. Sometimes it may not be the best option. But other times it will be good for the United States and the world because he seems to be the type of person that is actually capable of getting rid of a group like ISIS. Free speech is important. I do believe that some of the stuff people have been doing is a bit embarrasing. He is your president, there is not much you can do about it unless he gets impeached. Just try to get behind your country.

I don't pay attention to this since i'm used to hearing politician-bashing all the time.
So yeah Trump's getting trashtalked a lot in my country too, but not that much compared to some others.
So in my case Trump bashing is perfectly normal.
And even if it's "disrespectful of him and the country" like KorinKitty said, i hardly understand the words "politician" and "respect" once put together.
I guess you could call it a bad cultural habit... or a national sport.

Speaking as someone who has never really put much faith in the government or the president, I believe that any president should be held under high scrutiny and that his actions should always be questioned and Trump is no exception to this rule. With that said, the media's treatment of him comes across as petty and childish. A lot of the reports that I read just bash him over the most trivial things. Instead of reporting things that would actually affect people, they report crap like this.



Holy shit, stop the presses! This is some George Orwell shit right here. This is truly a scandal that the public needs to report about! Reporting stupid crap like this makes them come across like a bunch of damn teenage girls gossiping about others. Look, it's great that you want to hold Tump's feet to the fire but for the love of Mary mother of Jesus, report and criticize him for shit that actually matters.

And then there are the nut jobs who hate trump so much that it turns them into downright dickheads. There is no nuance in their thought process. If you say anything even slightly positive about Trump then they will go off the rails telling you how much of a sexist, racist misogynist asshole you are because apparently that's the only logical reason that anyone would ever would want to vote for Trump. It's gotten to a point where they are getting violent over it. Remember when some of them kicked the crap out of a guy and carjacked him because his only crime was that he was a trump supporter? Look, it's fine if you disagree with someone's political views. I have two good friends who are conservatives who voted for Trump and I don't agree with their decision. However, when you start committing acts of violence towards others over political differences, you're not showing them what for or fighting the good fight. The only thing you're demonstrating is that you're a unstable shithead who doesn't think that their shit stinks. It's this elitist, self-righteous attitude that got Trump elected in the first place.

It's a sad state of affairs. No one wants to calm down for a discussion anymore. Politics have gotten so radicalized that now we have people rioting in the streets over this. It's going to be a long time before people pull their heads out their ass to try to get a grip on reality.

I am pleasantly surprised at what I see are fairly lucid statements on Trump. On the internet I've come to expect a good number of people to be either intentionally unfair to him or misinformed to a hilarious degree.

I don't think he's perfect, either, but I think he's already better than Obama, Bush, Clinton and what could have been a second Clinton presidency.

It's really everything around him that is going insane. The Left in particular has become increasingly fanatic and belligerent toward Trump and conservatives in general. What I see is a rise in domestic Communism and identitarian politics, like Black Lives Matter and AntiFa. Meanwhile, the big corporate media stokes the fires of radicalism.

They want Trump to fail, and I think it's because he represents an existential threat to their way of life as dishonest journalism. They work overtime to keep the propaganda machine going, to keep people fighting amongst each other so they don't notice who the real enemies of the country are.

For this and other reasons I support gradually decentralizing our government. It has gotten too big, too overbearing. People from California shouldn't have to worry so much about what Florida does, and vice versa.

I'm not necessarily calling for Secession, but the Fed needs to be dialed back. Significantly. It has become a burden to the People, in a financial way and in terms of freedom, legislation.


Meanwhile Trump, from my point of view, is at least trying to fix/remove certain aspects of our government that hinder economic growth and financial security (Infrastructure, Jobs, Immigration, Trade Negotiations).

He seems to at least be trying to do good by the country and its People, and 3/4 of the shit that gets thrown at him is entirely unjustified, fabricated by those who want to keep this country in a sort of modern Dark Age while they line their pockets with the wealth and blood of innocents.

That's how I see it, anyway.
