Should we take breaks from technology?

I was thinking about this the other day and I think we should. Like maybe have 1 day a week where we don't go online, don't turn on the TV... We just go outside and do something. Play, hang out, have fun... Like humans used to. Maybe go out to eat without taking the phones out at the table. Go bowling or mini-golfing... Maybe head to the beach?

I think we can all do for a break now and then. It would be good for us.

I think it's a good idea but for people like me and my wife, that would be a bit hard since we make money online. We do have rest days like on weekends but there are still some jobs needed to be done even on weekends.

I would really love to do that however it seems impossible for me to do so at this moment. I'm working from home and in front of my computer most of the day doing several tasks, everyday. I only have one day off and I still can't rest during weekends since I'm managing my website so it really it's always a busy time for me. But whenever I have a few hours or minutes to spare, I see to it to rest my eyes and ease my mind for quite a bit

It is a great idea, but as noted, not always do-able. I work online as well. While I try to take breaks from my usual earning sites on the weekends, there are a couple that I usually still do. One is a quick way to earn gift cards, so I like to keep up with it. Those cards come in handy. I also want to start a blog, so I've been playing around with that on weekends.

I do try to make some time to do other stuff, but it's rarely an entire day of being unplugged. My husband and I do go out to eat on occasion, and we always spend quality time over the meal. I'm often shocked to see couples sit down together and spend the whole time on their phones (sometimes, whole families do this). I think it's sad.

I feel amazing when I don't bring my phone along. Like during a walk around the neighborhood or even leaving it in the car when going to a body of water to relax. One time I noticed my phone missing whilest riding in the car with friends. Turns out I my phone in a friend's house and they made me get it -.-. (I was just riding in their car for this trip). Like omg, I'm not gonna get lost!!! I was around them the whole time too. It was a wonderful 5 minutes of detachment.

I'm with @Lightfreed on the phone thing as well. I know people who can't set theirs down for 2 minutes. Heaven forbid if they went someplace without it. I'm glad I don't have that problem.

I've known people who don't even use the bathroom without their phone. When it gets dropped in the sink, or worse the toilet, they freak. I guess they should have managed to go to the can without the phone.
