    Holidays!

This forum's kinda getting deserted lately. So I figured, why not create a few new threads? Since I have to leave to get the bus to the supermarket in ten minutes, I'll make the rest later. Anyway, back on topic... where have you been on holiday? (Or vacation to some of you.) Anywhere in particular you want to go? Favourite climates?

I've only been to France. Once when I was younger, and Paris back in June/July last year. At summertime I love the weather there, though I'd like to explore warmer places. I'm not really one for cold places. Leaving Europe sounds like a good plan, but I only have chump change. Over to you, then.

You may post holiday pictures, if you like.

    RE: Holidays!

I generally prefer colder places. Hot weather forces me to stay inside unless I want to be incinerated, and humid weather puts me in an unbelievably bad mood. Some of the following places I went to were uncomfortable to say the least, but most were worth it.

(some) Places I have been (in no particular order):
France (school trip; pretty cack in all honesty, and the locals were insufferable)
Spain (this was bad; stuck in quite literally the middle of nowhere with ****-all to do)
Majorca (twice - weather was surprisngly comfortable)
Gran Canaria (twice - and never again)
Lanzarote (one day trip from Gran Canaria)
    Fuertaventura (worst sunburn ever)
    Florida
    Cyprus

Places I intend to go to soon enough:
    Germany
    Holland
    Canada

Places I have absolutely no intention of going to:
    South America
    Africa
    Middle-East

Where I want to end my days:
    Canada
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

    RE: Holidays!

    I prefer warmer climates myself.

Places I've been to outside of the US on Vacation/Holiday/Special Occasion:

    Toronto, Canada (School Event)
    Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

    Chicago, Illinois
    Orlando, Florida
    St. Petersburg, Florida
    Ft. Myers, Florida
    San Diego, California
    Los Angeles, California
Redondo Beach, California (for a few hours)

Places I could only dream of going to:

    Japan
    India (Goa & anywhere else)
Uh...anywhere else that is beautiful and has a bunch of Psychedelic Trance music festivals going on.
The hilarity of the Chat Room:

(01:15:32) Somasol: you'll be going "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU?UUUUUUUUU" when that happens.
    (01:15:46) Somasol: anyway, g'night!

    RE: Holidays!

I don't like hot weather really... Makes me very uncomfortable.

I've been to outside the UK
Pyrenees, France (over a zillion times and twice a year. Summer and Winter to ski, we have family friends over there that we stay with so it doesn't cost a lot.)
Paris (Well, more Disney Land Paris)
Germany (can't remember where though lol)
Paxos, Anti-Paxos and Corfu, Greece. Too hot...
Disney Land Florida. We did something clever and went in August. Almost died from the heat lol
    Toronto and Ottawa, Canada

    In the UK
    Bulith Wells, Wales
    Inverness Scotland
Lanark, Scotland (Does it count? I was staying with my Granny)
Somewhere in Ireland (I can't remember where, i was ickle)

    Going to be Going to
    Spain this Christmas

    Want to go to
    Japan
Australia (I will DIE of heat exhaustion lol)
    Russia

    Do these count as Holidays?
    London Expo (in London)
    Kitacon III (In Birmingham)
    My uni interviews in Edinburgh
I'm staying multiple nights in a hotel and I miss days of College...
You're asking for historical accuracy in a series where men weilding three swords in each hand, pirates surfing across land on giant anchors, horses with motocycle parts attached and feudal-era Power Rangers are the norm?

    RE: Holidays!

Haha, I'm epically green with envy. I guess I could say I've been to Scotland and Ireland, and Cornwall's a really nice place too. I have family there.

NW: If space holidays become way cheaper (since they're already public) I'd sure as hell come along.

    RE: Holidays!

Me too, Mantis. I haven't even been out of the USA.

I think I've only visited Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Florida.

I'm gonna try to visit my aunt in Germany this year, or at least I hoping I'll get a chance.

    RE: Holidays!

Damn, I feel sorry for you two!

So I guess that means I should appreciate greatly that I was fortunate enough to travel so much

Trust me on one thing though, even I think there's still tons of places to see, visit and explore and feel tiny at times. Have to admit though also another thing - picking new destinations sure is hard if you've already seen so much, especially while so young.

Any chance I could come to the US in summer and hang out at your place, Mantis?
