Thread: Since 2020, do you spend more time on your computer?

I know many people were forced to work from home in 2020. Others didn't have much going on outside of work because a lot of places were either restricted or closed completely. I feel like for most people, their hours spent at a computer likely went up by a lot. I have never been a big smartphone user. I do have one but aside from looking up something really quick, I don't do much else on it. I don't like to read, watch videos, or play games on it.

Has your time spent on your computer increases since 2020?

Yes, and I don't like it but I have no choice. My job duties have expanded and I no longer have a commute so I spend a few more hours per day on my computer for work alone. On top of that I can't really go out and socialize much so my free time is spent on the computer/TV as well.

That is what is unfortunate right now. We are kind of stuck spending more time indoors and since we can't actually have social gatherings (well, we could but we shouldn't), it is just more of an excuse to sit at the computer. I tend to spend more time at my computer in the winter by default but I feel like so many people are getting unhealthier because of this. I think just a few years ago they said sitting is the new smoking.

It's not good for my health I know, but I spend most of my time at my computer or phone or playing video games. I do put aside time to exercise, and in general, I feel healthier than I ever have. It's just unfortunate that my job and what I like to do in my downtime mostly happen to involve staring at these black rectangles of ours.
