Thread: Amusement Parks

Do you enjoy amusement parks? Are there any you frequent ? Any near you? Do you a favorite one, even if you don't frequent it?

For me, I live near (ish) to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, so I try to go there at least once every year, and I love it. It's been voted most beautiful park for many years, and I certainly agree. The park is based off of Europe and has different parts of the park as different countries (England, Ireland, France, etc.) And has attractions and decorations based on the corresponding country. Plus, it has great rides like Apollo's Chariot and Griffon. I love the park.

We have a few near by but it is not my cup of tea. When I was younger, I loved them but the last time I went to one was when I was 21 and I just didn't like the rides. My neck has issues so it would give me horrible heck aches to go on them. I also don't like being in crowded areas. Needless to say, I would rather go to a zoo than an amusement park.

Oh I enjoy amusement parks a lot. I remember my first time in an amusement park in Germany. I was astonished. It was a perfect day. I would literally swap my holiday for 1 day of being in an amusement park. The adrenalin and fun you can get there is enormous and great.

I don't really do amusement parks these days. I remember my parents took me to disney world when I was a kid. I wasn't a huge fan but this was during my "I'm too adult for this shit" phase of my adolescence. I love water parks. I remember going to Wisconsin dells that had quite a number of waterparks that were a lot of fun to do.

There are a few that we can go to that are quite near, but I would rather spend my whole day in front of the computer since I wouldn't ride anything there. I really do not like stuff like that, I would rather go in a museum that has a ton of artifacts. I would spend a lot of time in that place than in an amusement park. Maybe things will change when I have kids LOL!

Love theme parks (we call Amusement parks this in the United Kingdom ). Last time I went to one was two years ago actually. Unfortunately we don't really live near any big ones, nearest one is about an hour or two by car. I would love to go again because I'm sure Thorpe Park has added a few new rides including a ghost train. The biggest problem with these theme parks are the prices of the things inside. Food prices just seem to double once your inside one of them. Add to that the ticket prices especially if you don't book online in advance and it just becomes too expensive to go regularly.

As a kid, I love amusement parks! Well up til now but sad to say there aren't any amusement parks near our place because most of them were closed down. When we were kids, we always go to this huge amusement park near my cousins' place a few hours from ours. We spend our vacation at their place and on Sundays we go to the amusement park and watch the fireworks at night

I'm under an hour away from a Six Flags theme park in Northern California. I have a season pass with included parking but only went like once this year. What comes to mind are the haunted houses during Halloween. Six Flags is more family friendly (at least Vallejo) but still spooky enough to go through because walking in dark creepy places is always scary haha. I heard universal studios will scare the hell out of you, but alas, I haven't yet partaken in that fun. Roller coasters are great but I've done a lot of that when younger. Kind of like clubbing and other things.

Friends take road trips to Disneyland in Southern California but I haven't been since maybe when I was a kid. They said there are adult rides there lol. I need to go checkout Harry Potter land in universal studios and I still haven't gone down the water ride Magic Mountain in Six Flags when passing LA; when I used to do road trips there with friends. I've always wanted to go to universal studios Florida because of seeing it during kids shows on nickelodeon.

When in South Korea, the roller coasters weren't as high as what I'm used too lolol. I know I went to Lotte World but I need to go to old pictures to see about Everland and Seoul Land. I don't know if it would be considered a traditional theme park, but you should go checkout Jeju Loveland of visiting Jeju, Korea. Haha. Lots of ummm.. "love art" with reproductive parts. It was a hoot! Google is your friend.

I worked at HersheyPark (a smallish amusement park in Hershey, PA - sorry if you've heard of it, but I don't know how well known it is) for 5 years when I was in high school, and that sort of soured my experiences with amusement parks since then.
