What are some bad things that happened to you this year?

With 2018 coming to an end, reminiscing all the things good and bad that have come to pass this year. What are the bad things that happened to you this year?

My laptop got busted last may after I dropped it, I got it fix, it got busted again after 3 days, it cost me a lot to get it fixed the second time around.

Got scammed by a Russian site last July, never got paid, they owe me $300+ for jobs that i did.

Nothing too terrible. There are still a few days left in 2018 so I don't want to jinx myself but 2018 saw me getting married, my first full-time salaried job w/ benefits, moving into a luxury apartment, etc.
The things I could complain about would be so minor that I'd feel bad bringing them up. I suppose the stock market isn't performing as well as last year, but since I'm holding it for retirement, the yearly ups and downs don't matter much. My windshield got a crack in it Fall 2017, then during the winter it split so I put in a new one. Day 1 driving with the new windshield a branch fell out of a tree and scratched it as I was driving.

The big one is from March. The brain surgery I was meant to have was delayed again. It's looking like I'll probably get it around a year later, so Q1/Q2 2019.

Some weeks back I received some items such as the Outlaw Star Blu-ray from Amazon US, except they were all busted up. Never seen such a lazy packaging job before. At least I got the refund.

A couple of weeks ago I got a sofa bed I've been waiting months for. After its assembly I discovered it's missing arms. Not a huge problem if they'll deliver the arms.

A few days ago my family's cat passed away.

A few months ago I tore a ligament in one of my legs and had to use crutches for a while. Today, reportedly, my sister broke her leg, which brings me to 31/12/18....
If she really did break her leg, mark my words she'll completely spoil New Year's Eve for my family. So, that's the 2018 fuck-up to end all fuck-ups. Obviously I don't want her to suffer but it's not that. I'm talking about the vitriolic behaviour that my family always sees from her.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Is she just a generally nasty person to be around or what? If my family were helping me with a broken bone (and they did. 3 in fact throughout my childhood, haha) I would do everything I can to not cause a problem for them.

I wouldn't say anything "bad" happened to me in comparison to a lot of other people's problems or struggles. I would say I had a few setbacks for sure. I gained a little weight from my neck issues coming back. I had quite a few months where I didn't do much of anything as the smallest activities would make it worse. I am working on correcting that though. Getting back into rebounding to increase oxygen to my spine and relax my shoulders. I also started to have a really good close off to the year in terms of my freelance work picking up but it dropped again so I am hoping things start to stabilize in January. It is hard to be a writer with a stable income!

Oh man, now I really want to play some HOTD2 again. Yeah, my sister's pretty horrible. She's already being moved to a different hospital because the nurses are sick of her. Not surprised at all.
