I have a sister who stopped gift-giving. Unless there are genuine reasons like financial troubles, yeah, this kind of decision can cause a lot of family issues. I haven't had much respect for that sister for quite a long time, but this recent trend is yet another reason to not regain any. I do believe in the probably overused expression: "It's the thought that counts." Even something cheap and cheerful is better than nothing. Actually, a gift that is
made can be better than one that costs money.
I almost forgot I actually had to do that as a kid. Something so mind-numbingly boring would usually leave some impression, but not this time.
