I know there are a fair few boomers here, myself included.
Times are tough lately. A lot of these... younger people, really kill my groove at times. Can't talk about music with them. I can't talk to one kid in particular without him bringing up mumble rap. If you're going to listen to rap you might as well give Tupac or Ice Cube a try, but oh no, it's all this Soundcloud baloney now. Makes my ears bleed.
Gaming, that's way worse. You see them playing the same cookie-cutter shite game all the time and it feels like Groundhog Day. I'm not trying to "convert" anyone. But if you see somebody about to step in a pile of dog shit you'd warn him/her, wouldn't you? It's the right thing to do. I get told retro games have "bad graphics" or they're "too old", or are "boring". How would you know if you haven't even tried them? Okay, keep playing Fortshite.
Not that I think young Nintendo fanboys are any better. Back in my day, the overall divide was of course between Sega and Nintendo, but it was more real. The competition was fun. There were always new games to try. It wasn't always a case of mummy and daddy buying games for us. We got a small amount of pocket money every week and usually blew it all at the arcade. But even if arcades just reappeared, these modern gamer kids wouldn't touch them. Every bloody time I hear young person mention the Switch it's the same damn handful of games. But some of you know I'm not so pro-Nintendo now. It's just not the same.
So, rant over. But you, the boomers of OSN, what about young gamers, their attitudes and the state of the game industry (and other industries for that matter) ticks you off? Do you feel growing older has affected your enjoyment of games, film/TV, music, etc.?
