Have any businesses closed by you?

I noticed a number of businesses and some online ones local to my state have either shut down entirely or been bought out by a larger company. That craft store Micheal's bought up my favorite online shop and now I can't find another place that offered such great prices. Most of these larger stores are overpriced. A few smaller restaurants and general stores closed down as well. I think there were a few beauty salons/barbershops that are no more as well.

Have you noticed any businesses near you or online that have went under from the virus?

Yeah, one or two restaurants closed but the hardest hit were actually butcher shops. I think 4 of them closed within a 10-mile radius of me. The ones that survived had to begin offering new services such as butchering wild game or offering special orders. For some background, beef in particular got really expensive for a few months because large cities began to buy up all the supply and the massive factories where cattle are processed were operating at 1/5th capacity. Workers at those beef slaughterhouses had something like a 20% infection rate and experienced a lot of the worst symptoms in the USA.

I've stated before that I'm a small business consultant so I've seen tons of businesses close since March but I'm trying to answer the specific question about my immediate area.

None that I'm aware of, at least not due to covid. I do know some bars that choose to remained close even though the state allowed them to be opened again to wait until things settled down.

In all honesty, I live in California and where I live in California is a small community (~5,000) and 24 min drive to the local Costco within a city of 115,000.

So I don't go to the cities all the time, only for food, doctors appointments, vehicle repair, etc...

I have not seen any business close up shop and went "out of business"

Some of the local restaurants have suspended operations initially to comply with local restrictions, and those restrictions were lifted in June 2020, but some were re-implemented again just after July 4th.

In the local community myself and the family live in, the businesses are open and operating (restaurants, gas station, local small grocery, hardware store, and the like).

Some business may have suspended operations, but not out of business yet.

    Time will tell what happens
