Do you know anyone who drinks sweet tea?

I have never been a fan of the drink. I think it is considered a southern drink here in the US. I prefer tea to be plain myself but when I was younger, I did add sugar to it. I haven't done that in years though. Now, if I want it to be sweet, I will add in a spoon of honey.

I know a few family members who have been drinking it for a while now and I was shocked to find out that two of them are a lot heavier than they used to be. One doubled in size in just a few years and the other seemed to pack on over 30 pounds since last year. The only thing they changed was drinking more sweet tea. Now I would imagine this stuff contributes to weight gain since it is a lot of sugar but I had no idea it can do this much.

I was thinking about it more and I can honestly say I don't know a single person who drinks the stuff on a regular basis who is not overweight or obese. This stuff has to be so unhealthy for you.

Do you know anyone who drinks sweet tea a lot?

I used to love sweet tea when I was younger. "Southern Sweet" tea in particular, which mostly means it's more sugar than actual tea. As I've grown older, though, sweet tea is too sweet for me. I really like Gold Peak "Slightly Sweet" tea, and Arizona Diet Lemoade/Tea . Sweet tasting, but won't make Wilford Brimley break your door down to scream about diabeetus(RIP, Wilford)

I like sugar but I would much rather eat it than drink it. I do have soda on a weekly basis but I limit myself. I have a cousin who only drinks the stuff and at one point was drinking two 2 liters of it a day which can't be healthy. That is sugar and acid and all the other crap that is common in soda. I noticed I can't eat or drink as much sweets as I have gotten older as well. I end up with a stomach ache from it if I eat/drink too much.

Not so much Sweet Tea as Iced Tea that has a little sugar in it. Sweet Tea is just...too much to have often. It's like all your calories for the day in one glass.

I used to drink Sweet Tea a lot back in the day, but I ditched that after having an operation. It was not like there was some specific reason. I just didn't feel like drinking it. Right now, I am into Chamomile Tea.

I haven't been able to find a chamomile tea I like. It seems like most of them are blends and they are bitter. I like white tea and green tea the most but I would like to find an earthy tea like chamomile I can enjoy. Oh and spearmint tea is really good.

I don't put anything in my tea because I think tea should be flavorful enough to stand on its own. Speaking of which, my newest teapot arrived in the mail today!

I don't actually know anyone who drinks any tea other than typical English tea. (Not sure if you've heard of Tetley's, PG Tips, etc.)
