Are fast food prices going up by you?

I am curious since we all live in different areas. I noticed everything is going up in price to the point where I would be better off spending another $5 and getting restaurant-quality food instead of cheap unhealthy fast food. I always viewed fast food and cheap and convenient and it is becoming less convenient (orders being messed up all the time) and more expensive as time goes on. Most places I go anywhere mess up the orders 80% of the time so I just don't even bother. I have a very limited selection these days and the prices are really convincing me to just stop getting it all together.

We recently got Denny's (an American diner) and it was $27 for two skillets and onion rings. The onion rings were amazing but the skillet? I could have made something better myself and have leftovers. They felt like $6 meals, not $10 ones. Prices seem to go up while quantity and quality go down.

I haven't noticed. 95% of the time I've had fast food it's been from independent restaurants. I have had McDonald's since COVID though and it doesn't seem a lot more expensive than usual. Maybe it's just me, or perhaps they hadn't raised it much to recoup all the damage to their business and raising the price could scare customers off? The independent restaurant I've ordered from the most doesn't seem to have raised the prices and they're not necessarily cheap either. I guess I don't blame them because online food service sites like Just Eat take a big cut.

I suppose the circumstances in the US could be completely different but here I haven't noticed a price difference myself. For a long time people have become used to delivered takeaways, obviously because of lockdown. So it's actually been good for many of those businesses.

Maybe the cost is different for the UK branches? I can't see them raising the costs for you guys unless they had to. I mean I look at the menu over here and you can easily be spending almost $20 for two people. It is insane.
