    Favourite Anti-Hero

Ah, the Anti-Hero. The bad ass, who is often the fan favourite of the given franchise. If somehow, you don't know the definition of Anti-Hero, here is an excerpt from the wikepedia article:

"In fiction, an antihero[1] (sometimes antiheroine as the feminine) is generally considered to be a protagonist whose character is contrary to that of the archetypal hero, yet typically retains many heroic qualities."

So who is your favourite? Mine may have to be Vegeta, from Dragonball Z, as I suspect will be the case for at least a few of you. I am also quite fond of Hiei, from Yu Yu Hakusho, Casey Jones, from TMNT, Kazuya, From Tekken, Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver and Tyler Durden from Fight Club, as even though he is a figment of The Narrator's imagination, arguably, he fits into this category.

Ah yes, how could I forget good old Harry Callahan. I think I will also have to add Tommy Vercetti and Carl Johnson, from GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, respectively.

    RE: Favourite Anti-Hero

Last month I watched Guyver, and I really liked Agito Makishima as an anti-hero. Unlike Vegeta, I don't think Makishima's ultimate goal was to kill off the protagonist, but it still seems like he had alterior motives throughout the anime.
A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

We must remember...all men were once boys.

Deadpool and Wolverine for me. I love Deadpool for his wit and craziness, and Wolverine, because he is a total bad ass. If I think about it, I guess anti heroes in general are my favorites. Like The Hulk, Blade, Ghost Rider and even Batman. I could never stand total goody two shoes like Captain America or Iron Man.

Hrm...The first person to come to mind is Gammon in Phi Brain [he's basically a jackass but he helps out more than he seems like he would]. Also, maybe Manabe-kun in a way from Kotoura-san? He uses his perversion to be helpful. It's both weird and heroically sweet. I think.

I always find it hard to exactly say who is an Anti-Hero. Anti-Heros are pretty close to being villains sometimes and usually were a villain until they became good. Some people say Light Yagami from Death Note is an Anti-Hero, but I think he's more like an Anti-Villain. Do you think Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler would count? If so, that's my fav Anti-Hero. If not, maybe Viral from Gurren Lagann or Wolfwood from Trigun.

I'd have to go Yuri from Tales of Vesperia. He is the main protagonist of the game, and the character you play as for the most part (if you choose to), and while he does some very heroic things, he also does some...questionably good things.
Basically, he goes about things in a very gung ho, not by the books kind of way. They're not very good, pleasant, or legal, but they get the job done.
