    Food you like from other countries

    Whether you have traveled or just like dabbling with imports, most people have tried something from another country they enjoy when it comes to food. I have had quite a number of sweets from the UK. I think my favorite is still those Kinder Bueno bars. I wish the US would get them already

    There's a small Easter European market that opened up near me, and I've gone there once (will go again, for sure), and got toasted milk flavored cookies, and I LOVE them. Will absolutely get them again when I go there. Will probably try some of the beer they have there as well.

    Are they like a local brand or a big chain? I am a sucker for sweets and cookies when they are done right. I try to find imports online all the time for cheap.

    A lot of British snacks are good, but the US gets all the snacks. If snack foods were women, the United States would be a big Chad and Europe would be an incel.

    But we do get a lot of great food. One of my favourites is from Spain: churros. They're like twirly fried dough sticks and you might get them drizzled in chocolate, or sometimes plain with separate chocolate dip. They're nearly always coated with sugar and they're delicious.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they're in Mexico and Hispanic areas of the US, but perhaps they're just in Spain.

    One drink I love from the US is grape soda. We get ONE grape soda here. It's hard to find and it's crappy, so on a few occasions I've imported Fanta Grape. A few years ago I imported five or six brands of grape soda from the US for a taste test. Don't think I'll have the money for grape soda any time soon... lucky bastards.

    @Korin: I'm not sure, but I think it's just a local place.

    @Mantis: Damn...I didn't realize Brittain didn't have grape soda.
    That makes me sad...Amazing the common stuff we take for granted in the States.

    Umaibo, it's like a giant cheeto with tons of different flavors to choose from....and it costs 10 JPY so I got a lot of these in Japan.

    I'll eat just about any kind of sushi/sashimi/raw horse/whale meat/etc. I'm sort of a dumpster for whatever food I can get my hands on so this thread is difficult for me. I'll definitely agree with Mantis on churros. We have them in the USA, but I've had them in Barcelona, Spain as well. I've even had them at Haneda airport in Japan, so they get around. Just about everyone eats pizza/spaghetti/lasagna so i don't know if Italian food really counts, since it's like a backup "normal food" here in the USA. Enchiladas, burritos, tomales, curry (Indian or British/Japanese), kimchi, bulgogi, tteokbokki, bibimbap, whatever. Just get inside me.

    If you liked flavored soda and ever get the chance to try it, get some Jones soda. It is from Canada but holy crap is it amazing. I love the green apple and the blue bubblegum flavors.

    You mean this? I love green apple and bubblegum flavours (generally speaking) so I absolutely would try them if UPS and UK customs wouldn't screw me over. (The shipping would probably end up costing considerably more than the products!)

    If you ever come to Britain I highly recommend searching for some Fentinmans. It's soda that's botanically brewed. It tastes really different to what we're all used to, and it's quite tantalising, actually! (They also do some alcohol.) Their cola varieties are my favourite. I'd go as far as saying it's the best cola I have ever tasted. My next favourite would probably be their dandelion and burdock. This is a British flavour that I believe is unheard of in North America, but we have a lot of D&B sodas. I can't really describe it. Just try it if you get the chance.

    Yeah that is it. They do limited edition flavors too. The last one they had was birthday cake. I didn't get a chance to try it though. It is hard to find in stores. I used to get a bottle with my Chipotle orders when I would eat there but they stopped carrying it.

    I will certainly give that a try if I go to the UK. I would like to some day. I either have to get over my fear of planes or go on a cruise. lol

    Oh Damn, I forgot I LOVE hi-chew fruit chews. They're Japanese and they're fantastic.
    They're softer and cheaper than stuff like Starburst, and have a lighter flavor.
