Name a game, movie, TV show or book you have nostalgic feelings for but no longer enjoy getting through it.
Mine is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Can't get through it anymore. I get super bored.

I still enjoy Ocarina of Time but mostly due to nostalgic value. For me it's mischief makers, it was a fun game back when I was a kid but now it's just beyond frustrating and not as fun. I still remember it fondly though![]()
For a game, I'd mention Alien Trilogy for PSX. This was a kick ass game in my 5-year-old eyes, but nowadays, I find it a bit repetitve and, at times, cumbersome (aiming, switching guns, etc.)
Neither a borrower nor a lender be
Most shows and games I loved as a kid, I can't watch or play anymore and I think this is down to me just being an adult. I feel like I am wasting time. I have gone back and played older games but only when I am playing with someone else. I can't play older games solo, I just get bored. In terms of music and movies, this is kind of the same. I rarely listen to music I loved growing up and while I still do enjoy it, my taste changed so much that I find myself getting sick of it after a few songs. Movies... I have a few I can still watch over and over again but I rarely do it.
There are always things that were great upon first viewing, but then you watch them again and realise that they didn't age well. National Lampoon's Vacation is an example that immediately springs to mind.
Many of the games I played as a kid, mostly on the GBA, I used to spend hours playing but now can't stand more than five minutes of. The vast majority of it being licenced shovelware. On the PS1 there was Alundra 2, which was THE RPG of my childhood (yes I know, I'm still in therapy) that I obviously have zero interest in ever playing through again. On the PS2 there were a few Cartoon Network licenced games that I absolutely loved as a kid (especially Ed, Edd n Eddy and Samurai Jack) but I got bored of them very quickly as an adult. Some of the Spongebob games such as Battle for Bikini Bottom and the movie game hold up rather nicely, but for others like Revenge of the Flying Dutchman...the less said about them the better.
I replayed Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask earlier this year and while I will always respect OOT for changing the shape of gaming I much prefer MM now.
Shake shake!
For me it's Fatal Frame and Fatal Frame 2. They made such an impact on me as a middle schooler but couldn't be any less scary now. On top of that, they just handle horribly, the control scheme is horrendous. My recommendation: go with Fatal Frame 3 or later & watch some of the older ones on Youtube.
