What are you giving your Mom for Mother's Day?

Do you have anything planned for Mother's Day? Will you be giving your mom a gift, and if so, what is it?

Are you a mom yourself? If so, do you know what your family will do for you or give you?

Many people go out to eat for Mother's Day too. Mom needs a break from the kitchen. Will this be part of your plans?

I'm not sure if we are going out or if my husband will cook for me on the grill. We have plans the day before, so I'm guessing he will make something at home. I've already received 2 early gifts, a rosebush and candy.

Here in the UK our Mother's Day is in March. I printed a 3D angel (and posted the below image in my journal) for my mother which she claimed to like. I'd have modelled one myself but I think I'll be ready to make something good myself the next time around. Even though I didn't make the present I spent a while choosing it as I know she likes angels and has many around her house. That's why I was pretty pissed today when she mentioned that it's Mother's Day in the US tomorrow and how I didn't get her anything on ours and that my sisters did. I somehow think she forgot about my gift.

I have a decent 3D printer but I think this took several hours to print.

Honestly, I don't mind that much if she didn't actually like (despite saying she did) the gift itself, but it's the principle. When I reminded her of this, she tried to bullshit her way out of it and said she meant that I didn't buy her anything. Why does the money matter? (Not to mention, the 3D print materials aren't cheap anyway.) Guess what my sisters got her with money? The kind of stuff most people get their mothers, like toiletries, inexpensive jewellery and flowers. They say it's the thought that counts, but I experienced the reverse.

I think taking your mother out for dinner is nice if the opportunity is there, or in your case enjoying a home-cooked meal. Glad you've liked what you got.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

That sucks, Mantis. For the record, I think the angel look great!
As for me, I work Mother's Day night, so my family won't be doing a whole lot. I'm just going to buy her a few potted flowers and a box of chocolates. Probably give them to her tomorrow.

I'm in the UK as well, I tend to get her a card and take her out for a meal, don't usually take her out on the actual day though, usually a time that's convenient for us both!

Since my mother loves bags and pouches, I'm going to give her an all in one pouch where she can put her phone, cards, coins and a notepad at the same time. She's a very organized lady and want to keep her things intact so I guess it would be the perfect gift for her I'm also planning to buy her a robe since it's almost winter so she can use a new robe to make herself warm.

We are doing what we always do and having a nice lunch and I will probably get some chocolates or things like that. I am glad that my mother has come to not really want much for days like this.

Nothing major. Took my mom to a mother's day brunch. My mother doesn't really ask for gifts so just me being with her is a present enough for her.

I'm sorry, Mantis. Hopefully, she will remember and appreciate the thought and effort.

It sounds like you guys put a lot of thought into doing nice things for your moms. I hope they all like everything.

My mom always says she doesn't want or need anything, so I gave her a handmade gift. I crocheted a bathmat and added some pretty ribbon to it. She had just put in a new shower curtain, and it matched perfectly. She was delighted with it, so that makes me happy.
