What is your guilty pleasure food?

I have a vague recollection that Korin or somebody else might have made a similar topic recently, so if that's the case, my bad. Regardless, I figured I'd ask this question anyway: what is your guilty pleasure food? As in, a food that is unconventional or strange to other people, but that you still enjoy?

Mine is something I "invented", which I lovingly refer to as... Spaghettaroni. It's basically mac and cheese mixed with pasta sauce and a few meat balls thrown in. My girlfriend is absolutely disgusted by this combination for whatever reason, but frankly, I think it's delicious. You get the cheesy gooeyness of the mac and cheese, with the sweet tang of the red pasta sauce, and the meatballs rolling around in it all... those are killer. I suppose I can see why this would turn some people off, as powdered cheese and small noodles aren't normally components of a red sauce pasta dish, but I don't care. I would legitimately eat this even when there are "better" options. Give it a try some time if you're an adventurous soul.

What about you, what are your most unconventional culinary delights?

I don't have much of a variety when it comes to what I eat. I tend to just stick to what I know I like.

That being said, in terms of guilty pleasures, assuming we are talking about the unhealthy kinds, it would have to be Chinese food for me. The Americanized version. I love vegetable fried rice and lemon chicken. The meal is loaded with salt and generally not healthy but I could eat it several times a week if I let myself. lol I only get it once every few months so I don't overdo it but when I do get it, I eat it all that day split into two meals.

Chinese food is awesome. I always get the flat noodles (I forget the proper name), sesame chicken, dumplings and beef + broccoli. As you said, it's probably really unhealthy (especially the Americanized, suger-soaked version of Chinese food that we eat here in the USA), but god damn is it delicious.

I always get the same two things. I either get lemon chicken with fried rice or general tso with fried rice. I do like beef teriyaki now and then too. It is so easy to eat more than you probably should so it is a good thing I don't eat out more often or I'd be eating it toooooo much lol

Mine is Mac and Cheese, but...I may have to try that Spaghettaroni, Stardood.
    That sounds amazing.
Chinese food is good, but most places near me that deliver use the "chunk" of meats, and it's just too nasty for me to enjoy anymore. I do enjoy the Teriyaki Chicken on a stick, though.

I've actually been trying to eat/be healthier lately, so I'm eating a lot less fatty foods, and exercising more.
I've lost 3 pounds in the last few months. Hooray!

So....this isn't like homemade mac & cheese then? It actually sounded good until I realized that this is probably using Easy-Mac. I'd still try it. I'll eat damn near anything. I've gone on and on about this in other threads but my claim to fame is eating raw horse & manta ray fins in the same sitting. Don't take my word for what good food is.

That being said this is about guilty pleasure foods, right? There's almost nothing I feel guilty about eating due to the judgement of others but I can feel my body taking damage when I eat my favorite Christmas-time dessert: Buckeye Balls. It's so much sugar and peanut butter that you just KNOW it's wrong. When you finish eating 5 of these and have to explain it to yourself why you just did that...it's like your highschool crush walking in on you in your full-body fursuit crankin' it to tentacle porn.

This one is semi-guilty because it just makes me look like a hick which isn't so bad but it's also a pain in the ass for my mom and/or grandma to make. Chuck Wagon Casserole.

I found a new favorite cookie that is going to likely not last. I know it is seasonal but I am hoping they come back every year for a while.

If you are a fan of mint flavor items, I highly recommend the peppermint bark Oreos. I have to say, they are the best ones I have ever had. The smell when you open the back is just amazing. I want my house to smell like it. lol

So yeah, needless to say, I will be stocking up on them when I can find them in-store. I got them on Amazon. I am trying to savor them by eating only 4 at a time but I keep wanting to go back and get more. lol

Oh yeah, I see those at the store. I'd give them a try, but I would be stuck eating all of them since my wife never eats sweets except for chocolate ice cream. She saves all of her spare calories for that ONE thing and it's so boring. She eats a half-gallon every 4-5 days. Who shops for ice cream twice per week?
Anyway, since she is from Japan, American versions of brands she was familiar with were a novelty to her for about a month and I got to try a few seasonal varieties of things like Oreos but since then I've missed tons of seasonal treats.

You eat 4 oreos at once? I think I always stop at 3, which I never noticed until you brought it up just now.

Oh yes, that's the guilty part. Otherwise it would pretty much just be regular pasta with cheese in it. Trust me though, it's a lot better than it sounds, and it's dirt cheap to make. Give it a try.
