Is Halloween going to be different this year in your area?

I haven't celebrated Halloween in years. I was never into drinking or partying so from 16 on, I just kind of stopped doing things on the day. I think the last thing I did anything on the holiday was in 2008 when I went trick or treating with my ex's sister and her little girl. I took my cat, he wore a black and red striped polo shirt. I said he was Freddy Meowgar. Yeah, I am that lame. LOL

I know over recent years, it has been changing a lot. Now it has to be done during daylight and there are all these restrictions in place to protect kids. But with COVID this year, I do wonder if there will even be a Halloween. It seems like people in my area aren't fussing over it too much but I feel like as it gets closer to the day, it will be canceled for children and adults alike.

I'll be damned if some pandemic is going to be a damper on my Halloween spirit.

I'm sure there's probably going to be a good number of places that will be closed but I know of some bars in my area that are going to be doing some Halloween celebrations and I'm also sure that there will still be some kids trick or treating. Perhaps not as much and covering their mouths and noses but they'll still be out there to some extent.

In my city they're still selling a lot of Halloween stuff in the stores. Not sure there's going to be as many kids this year though.

I live away from home, and at my mum's some years she gets loads of kids come to the door and others none at all. Expect it shall be a quiet year.

As a religious man, Halloween is my favorite holiday.

    Next is Christmas.

But I haven't formally celebrated it in a decade.

So I just wanna do relaxing

Personally, the pandemic won't change my experience of Halloween which won't be anything beyond some scary films and video games. As for everyone else, yes, it'll completely change trick-or-treating. Last I recall, parents are already paranoid about that tradition anyway. Generally people don't trust their neighbours these days, so kids don't get the same free will I had as a boy at Halloween.

Any Halloween parties will be kept indoors amongst a family in their household. I think most people will still enjoy it despite the virus.

Pretty sure everyone's exhausted their selection of pandemic movies...

My neighborhood is already decorated & i know that my house (which I bought in February) had 225 kids come by last year so it will be an eventful Halloween if it's even half as busy.

Korin said something about kids going out during daylight...what is that nonsense? I'm with Starwind, I find any notion that Halloween will be watered-down to be highly offensive! My favorite aside from Christmas as well!

Let's do a spooky movie for our meetup near Halloween. As i mentioned a few tines (probably not enough) that out of the few movies i care for, they are comedy or horror. Movies aren't my thing but holiday spirit sure as hell is.

Then for Halloween, how about a movie that has both?

Closer to Halloween, sure. Let's ask the guys tonight or next week and see what the consensus is. There are some anime we could go with as well.

    Let's discuss tonight.

But Halloween will be very weird if it is only during the day

The one thing that will destroy Halloween is immigration and immigrants not assimilating

Maybe it is just certain areas but where I live, Halloween starts at 5PM and ends at 7PM. In some areas, it starts as soon as 3PM. They basically want all the kids at home before it gets dark. It seems to ruin the point of the holiday to me. Like why bother decorating or dressing up if the element of the night which makes it all a lot more fun is gone?

If parents would be parents, they wouldn't have to worry so much about kids getting hurt.
