    Hypothetical Time-Travel Question.

This is a question I tend to ask people a lot (don't hit me I'm immature!).

If you had somehow acquired the ability to travel backwards through time to any given date/period, with the allowance to take ONE piece of equipment from the modern day (not too large - has to be small enough to fit in your living space), where/when would you go to and what would you take?

Remember - this is a one-way trip! No coming back to restock on things!

My personal choice would be England circa 1800. The object I would take back with me would be a large container of general vaccination solution. Why? I could quite simply corner the medical market by ridding the population of commonplace illnesses and take the humanitarian position whilst doing so. Fame, fortune and respect would come my way!

    RE: Hypothetical Time-Travel Question.

I'd go not long ago from now to Ukraine, to Drohobycz, where my favourite writer lived and died during the second World War. I would take a copying machine to copy and save his work which got lost during the War. He was a great writer with a huge imagination, so vivid and colorful, his writing was so convincing that I believe it's a great loss for literature.

Hmmm...... I would want to either go to the Titanic and ride her before she sank, and meet a lot of people,or go to Old Britain circa Roman times and hang out with the Celtic tribes.
For the Titanic,I would take with me a small book with a pen so everyone I met, I would want their names and write them down so many people that died wouldn't be nameless to me
For Old Britain, I would take with me a Bowie knife so I could protect myself and possibly, accidentally influence how they shape their knives when fighting the Romans

Uhm... what makes you think you'd survive this? Maybe you should take a boat instead

I can't think of the exact date and time but I think it was around 1909, where you got baseball cards by purchasing tobacco. I would go and get as many Honus Wagner Cards circa 1909 because that is considered the rarest cards and there is only believed to be about 20 left that are in good condition. They sell for over 4million, one I think sold for 16million so you could imagine where I am getting at with this one

    RE: Hypothetical Time-Travel Question.

    um..
If I had the ability to time-travel and I can bring a some household size object..? uhmmm Wel if i got to the past do not bring anything electronic nor gas powered... but if the future, all technology would be pointless.

So I would say I would like to go an live in the time of Christ so I can be like Ben-Hur. (see the movie Ben-Hur with Charlton Heston).. and what would I bring.. to be honest.. i have no idea...
Question: Would what we do or bring affect the space-time continuum in a negative way?

so if I could bring something, maybe some textbooks that will have everything i will need. like building, planting, construct a ship and sail to the new world, it will be like an adventure!
But leave something behind for my future posterity about historical events that will occur

But if it was a one-way trip, you'd be dead by the time they're worth anything big, or you'd be so old that all of your brittle bones would snap by jumping because you "hit it big". As for me, I'd be a sort of anti-hero vigilante and record all of the dates of any major heist in the past couple of decades and travel back to that time. Then I'd steal from the thieves when reading about cases that were "solved" in the past and give most of the money back to those who were robbed, thus becoming quite rich over the years from what I kept.

Or, thinking of the Back to the Future series, I'd record all of the scores of sport matches and make myself rich that way. That's probably a safer option.

If it wasn't a one way trip I'd take a camera and go back to ancient Greece. It'd be fascinating to have photos of the temples and buildings before they became ruins

But since it is... I guess I'd take a book on the history of Greece, and set myself up as a fortune teller
