Have You Ever Had an Imaginary Friend?

They say that most kids have their own imaginary friend and oftentimes we think that it's part of kid's creative minds that they are able to make fictional characters on their head that seems to be real. I remember my niece when she was 2 years old and she had a friend named "Dude" whom she used to play with. According to her, Dude was a small boy who looks like a teddy bear but without the fur, always run inside the house and watch her sleep. At first, we find it normal since she was a toddler back then but later on we felt somewhat scared whenever she mention her little imaginary friend.

How about you? Have you ever had an imaginary friend? Or someone who has/had one?

I never did but I would imagine that my dog was still alive when I was a child. She died when I was young and it made me heart broken over it so I would often times imagine she was with me. I did have my toys talk to each other and all that but never actually had a legit imaginary friend. I don't know anyone who had one either.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is really devastating. I never owned a dog but I once had hamsters which are totally adorable and I really love them and I was really devastated when one of them died, especially when all of them were gone Yes I used to have my dolls talk to each others as well when I was a little girl and I used to imagine that they have their own lives and own characters

I don't think I actually ever did this. I was fortunate enough to have a friend I saw pretty much every hour of every day who lived on the same street, so I suppose I didn't get the time to think up an imaginary friend.

KorinKitty, Sorry to hear about your dog

I'm not sure if they classify as imaginary friends, but I frequently think about the characters I write when I go walking alone.

Sometimes I "talk" to them so I can form more solid personalities out of them.

Maybe I am insane, but I'm enjoying myself and it helps my writing process so w/e

I've never had an imaginary friend but I feel like sharing this. My cousin used to have an ''imaginary'' friend and I put it in quotes because it might not have been so imaginary. She used to have an imaginary friend that was an adult police officer. She would stand in the same place and tell us that the police officer is standing there. She sometimes cried and told us that the police officer was mad at her. We asked her why and she said that she couldn't tell or else he would get mad. It was an old house so we were a bit afraid of a super natural occurance but nothing really weird ever happened other than what my cousin told us.

Fascinating. I'm sure at the time it was unsettling

I haven't, but I kinda wanted to. It was always a mystery to me how would it look like. To have someone that was there, but not really. It was all very abstract for me and random, but I don't know. I can see how that can be a cool thing, but on the other hand it can be a bit dangerous if you lose yourself in that.
