Japanese giant hornets spotted in the US

So some Japanese giant hornets made it into the US, believed to be via a cargo ship and they already began hunting our honey bees. What is interesting is what was observed when this started happening. I guess the honey bees swarmed over the hornet and overheated it, killing it within the hive.

It makes me think that these bees had to deal with them many years ago and their instincts kicked in. I just thought this was pretty cool in terms of nature handling itself and wanted to share about it. I hope to God those things don't make it to where I am in the US, I will cry. lol

Haven't seen any here, but I'm seeing plenty of bees. They're hard at work on my peach trees & blueberry bushes which are all growing like crazy due to all the rain we've had recently.

Hopefully the giant hornets won't come into contact with the Africanized bees that sometimes ravage the Southwestern US. I guess you might call a conflict between those two...

Imagine getting out of lockdown and finally going outside just to get swarmed by giant hornets.

How about instead I double-down and remind you that wild wolf & coyote populations are on the rise as well?

I anticipate that walking to the mailbox will look like this soon:

Edit: wtf happened to my .gif? It was displaying properly before...
Edit 2: re-uploaded it and I can see it again now. I'll be monitoring this.

Bald eagle numbers are growing as well. It would seem that the weakest links in our society may have to face off against nature itself if the numbers keep going up. lol

I don't fear coyotes or wolves though, heck we have bears around here and I don't fear them either. They mostly avoid people and will only go after small children or pets so you more a less have to keep them safe.

This is like the story of the 300 spartans, except ten times as epic and actually real. If just a handful of these can swiftly commit bee genocide, think about what a nest full of them can do to you.

Not ashamed to admit that I'd probably shit my pants if I saw those guys coming towards me. I can't stand any flying insects. Except moths. 99.9% of the time I'm cool with them. They can hang in my apartment if they want, no beef with them. Except one time when a giant moth got into my ol' bedroom when I visited my parents probably at least six years ago. I almost had a panic attack and had to sleep in a different room. Never before had I reacted to a flying insect that badly but if I see wasps or hornets it's time for war.

I still prepare myself to gas some bees if I see any. They're not inherently bad dudes but it's a damn home invasion.
