Things you are looking forward to?

Since Summer is nearly here, is there anything you are looking forward to?

Maybe going somewhere special? Some kind of event? ect. ect.

I am looking forward to just warmer weather. I want to spend more time outside. I said this last year and I really didn't get out enough. I feel like it will do my body some good to just be out in the sun more. I might start a garden in the next few weeks so I have something to care for outside as well.

Well, me and a few friends are planning on going to a renaissance festival in august so that should be fun. There are a few hiking trails that I'm hoping to try out this summer since I've always wanted to take up hiking. A friend of mine is also going to be taking me to an Alice Cooper concert in June. I haven't listened to much of his music but I figured I'd tag along since that would beat all the crap that we have here back in my town. Also, Alien: Covenant premiers in almost a week. It's my most anticipated movie of the year so I'm pumped to see that one.

I'm looking forward to my holiday in Portugal in a couple of months. Really in need of a holiday, I've only had 3 days off this year ha!

Like Korin I love the summer. Even though it's May now, quite often over the past few weeks it's been pretty dull. Now things are finally really starting to get summery. Otherwise, I'm not quite sure in particular. As some of you know this year I should finally be getting some major surgery. This month I'll go to a meeting about that. If it all works out maybe I'll go abroad late in the year, though I'd rather not get my hopes up about that and just hope I'll be recovered in time to go somewhere early next year, perhaps.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

If it isn't too personal asking, what are you getting surgery for?

And there is nothing wrong with keeping your hopes high. I know people say not to do it but having a little faith/hope is a good thing.

Nah, I wouldn't really call it too personal anymore. In the past I hid it from everyone I could, but since I may be approaching the end of the tunnel now it doesn't matter so much. Nearly nine years ago I got epilepsy, and nearly eight years ago when they learnt medication wasn't properly controlling it they told me they'd look into surgery.

The good thing about the NHS is that we get treatment free. The bad news is that as you can tell I've been waiting a while. I was hospitalised last year for preliminary surgery, but it should be the last major step in the second half of this year, now that they (I hope!) know which part of my brain to remove. I think it'll only be a smallish piece.

Recovery might take 2-3 months, so if I get the surgery in Q3 I'd have to count on that and the recovery before November for the holiday. It's not a big window, but here's hoping. Besides, what's a two-week trip to Gibraltar compared to a (positive) total 180?

This should be the best year of my life.
