Are you the same offline as you are online?

I know for a lot of people out there, who they are online is not quite how they are in person. I am typically how I am online only if I don't know you too well, I am very quiet and reserved. The internet tends to see my more open and talkative side which is normally closed off for family and strangers/people I don't know well enough.

So for you, are the the same offline as you are online?

I'm far more eloquent in writing than I am in person. At least, that's what I think.

I'm just about as honest online as I am in person, though depending on the social situation I am more or less outspoken.

For the most part I'm pretty similar to how I am in RL. Weirdly I think I'm actually more timid online normally. LOL When I was younger I think there was probably relatively big difference. I use to be insanely hyper online, but wasn't quite that intense RL. Now I just feel like I'm a balance and pretty much myself, except less talkative most the time. (At least in big groups, I tend to be a lurker)

    A belligerent drunk.

    So yeah.

And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

I would say so. I'm a bit more articulate online than I am in real life but I don't really act much differently online

I recall creating a thread about the very same topic some time ago. So I searched my threads and sure enough, I made it in 2011. Only reason I remember is because necromancers resurfaced it a couple of years ago. So... a new thread on the matter is very much needed!

Back on topic, generally speaking I think people are more confident online (for obvious reasons) but over the years (especially after becoming a 30-year-old boomer) I stopped giving nearly as many fucks about many things. Both on the internet and in real life I often say and do shit without thinking it through first. It would probably take plenty of liquor to become as talkative though.

    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

In real life I'm a lot sexier and taller than I am on here. I also drive several sports cars, which I don't/can't do on this forum.

Uhhhh as for a real answer I think I'm like 15% less articulate than I am when I have the time to put things in writing at my own pace. I still have the same opinions and shitpost-y attitude, but I throttle it back as the situation dictates (in public, at work, etc.). Since getting married and buying a puppy I have learned to be far more patient than I was even 8 months ago. Every decision I make now is roughly 50/50 so it takes a lot of effort to overcome the frustration at times.
