    Podcasts

    Hello everyone!!!

So this may or may not be done yet, but here I go....
Podcasts. Do you listen to podcasts?
If so, why? If you do listen to podcasts, what types do you listen to (e.g. Paranormal, religious, sports, political).

I ask because in the last 6 months I have dived deep into podcasts and find them AWESOME!

If anyone has a great podcast please share!

    Mine are:
    Freedomainradio

Similar reason i listen to audiobooks, very convenient while driving, walking or doing housework.

These are currently on my phone:
    - Fast Karate for the Gentleman (Anime and Games. Probably listen to this more just to enjoy the experience of listening to Dave and Joel talk about random shit)
    - AnimeWorldOrder (Anime, but covers a lot of old anime due to being older anime fans)
    - MysteriousUniverse (Paranormal, Futuristic and Scifi oriented. Very Professional Quality one host is an ex music professional the other some science based background.
    - Jim Sterling Podcasts (Jim Sterling, video game reviewer. This guys just cracks me up, checkout his youtube also)
    - Podquisition
    - Spin Off Doctors
    - Struggle City (Essentially two chicks chatting shit, struggling actresses in NY. One is Trans)

The ones I listen to are:

RT Podcast (Rooster Teeth staff that talk about anything of interest and sometimes challenge some to dumb, but funny games like Google or Gavin. The usual four hosts are Gus Sorola, Burnie Burns (co-creators of Red v. Blue and voice actors of it too), Gavin Free (of The Slow Mo Guys and Achievement Hunters) and Barbara Dunkelman ( RT staffer, actress and voice actress of Yang Xiao Long in RWBY)

The Nerdist Because I'm a nerd at heart and it is a good podcast.

The Joe Rogan Experience Because listening to potheads talking is funny.
We are all insane, we just act normal for the sake of others.

Hmm. I think podcast is a dated term, though still used extensively in iTunes if I'm not mistaken. There are different forms of audio which aren't quite organised like a podcast. Rather, they're not so linear. I like ones that relate to game development, health and fitness, and motivation, mostly. This doesn't match the strict definition of a podcast per se, but one guy I started listening to recently is called Brian Johnson.

He does provide shorter videos, but where his content shines the most is his website which charges a small monthly subscription fee. (I'm not trying to sell his products! He just offers some really great wisdom and philosophical perspectives on tackling many daily problems we face.) There's a helluva lot of audiobooks on there, which is why I said they're not exactly a podcast format. But this should give you the gist of the kind of things I like.

I did used to listen to a particular game dev podcast, but I remember it just ending abruptly. It's probably off the radar now since it's been so long, but I loved the interviews with indie game developers. I could do with getting back into podcasts in general. Lately I only really listen to personal development audio, but I'd like to get back to the video game podcasts.

Edit: Also, since this is a pretty casual discussion I'm going to move this to Clyde's Bar.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I still go back and listen to old episodes the YogPod sometimes, back when Simon and Lewis were just a couple of goons recording terrible WoW gameplay in their bedrooms.

    My current jams are

-Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast: Bill Burr is my favorite current living comedian and his podcast with him rambling is like getting a little dose of new stand up material each time he puts out a podcast episode

-Pointless Podcast: I loved G4TV and the shows such as X Play and Attack Of The Show. Kevin Periera(not sure if that's how you spell his last name) who was the former co host on AOTS interviews people much like he did on the show and it can be pretty entertaining an hilarious at times

-Completely Unnecessary Podcast: Pat The NES Punk's podcast which revolves mostly around gaming news. Keeps me in the loop of the retro market and some general video game news.

-Nerdist Podcast: much like Pointless Podcast, Chris Hardwick was on G4TV and Attack Of The Show reviewing tech items. He's also a pretty good comedian and a hell of an interviewer. Some of the episodes can be funny, highly intellectual, and for the most part a bit of both. But it's always entertaining!
