    How are you going to propose to your girlfriend?

    So basically, I've been thinking of this lately, and I came up with a great idea. If you're a girl, what are your thoughts on this? Also, if you're a guy, how are you going to propose to your girlfriend?

    So basically, I was planning on giving a ticket to New York to my girlfriend, and then invite her to the top of the World Trade Center, and then ask her to look into the telescope and when she loosk at the statue of Liberty, I'm going to say "Look into the telescope, and I'll show you the future" and then hold up the ring, and once she looks at me I'll be standing on my knee asking her to marry me. Then, once we kiss there will be fireworks

    I thought about this kinda thing every now and then before I entered my twenties. Nowadays I think that even if I was in a committed relationship I wouldn't consider marriage. Hypothetically speaking, I'll answer this as if marriage was an interest. By the way, the telescope proposal is a pretty cool idea.

    I'm not sure I'd choose anything too fancy. It all really depends on what the woman likes. I'd probably take her to somewhere she really wants to visit and propose there. Quite boring, huh?

    Mantis,

    Not really, simple marriages tend to succeed as well. Because the more complicated ones, such as mine, can easily fail and then it would be disasterous. Anyhow, girls like nostalgia a lot. So if you bring them to the place where you first met, and say something along the lines of, "This was where we first met, this journey has been amazing, and I'd like to continue on with this journey, until death do us apart." and she will most definitely be amazed.

    Either way, my marriage is far from now, I have way too many years to think about how my proposal will be, haha.

    That was so sweet! If I were in your girlfriend's place I would be very happy and maybe there will be tears of joy in my eyes. I remember when my husband proposes a marriage to me back year 2001. We went to my favorite coffee shop and I usually order iced coffee. In that day he insist to order hot coffee for me and convince me to try it for once. So I try it and during my last sip I saw a word inside my cup saying "marry me Bell". I make sure to drink all the coffee until to the last drop to read clearly the word and if it was really my name written inside the cup and when I look at him he gave me flowers and ofcourse a ring. All the crew in the shop was singing our team song and cheering with us. It is one of the happiest moment of my life.

    That's a pretty cool idea. It's definitely better than mine. At the time I was pre-proposing to my girlfreind, I thought I had the best idea anyone had ever thought of, until it backfired. I had taken her to a restaurant and ordered white wine. I had already arranged a surprise with the waitress and when she poured the wine into my girl's glass, the ring was sitted at the bottom. I had hoped that she would see it when she was almost done with the wine but imagine my surprise when I saw the glass empty. She hasd swallowed the damn thing. I'll spare you the rest of the story because it is not that pleasant.

    Kieran, I feel bad for your misfortune but at the same time your story sounds like something straight out of a comedy. To be honest if I were a girl and felt a proposal ring in my wine, I'd probably swallow it on purpose to cause some chaos

    Being 15 I still have a lot of time to figure out how I'm going to propose. Though I completely agree with Mantis in that it entirely depends on the girl. I think that rather than to a place, I'd like to take her to an event. Something that only happens once (or at least every time it happens it's different) and can't be repeated. Think watching a celestial event like a meteor shower. Those are really beautiful. That way it would truly be a unique proposal and one to remember.

    I like the idea. It is creative but it isn't something that would appeal to me. Know what would have worked me over? Having an animal I like bring me the ring. haha I am married now and there really wasn't a "pop the question" ordeal for us. It was something we knew was going to happen seeing as we live in different countries.

    @Kieran

    No way. Haha! I definitely do not want to hear the end of that story. Did you end up getting married anyhow? And did you re-propose or did she find the ring, you know, when...
