What are your greatest strengths... and weaknesses?

Forgive me if there is already another thread similar to this, but I couldn't see any in my quick glance through Clyde's Bar, so here we go. You guys hopefully know yourselves better than anyone, so what would you say are some of your 'stronger' qualities? Nobody is perfect, so try to share at least one of your weaker qualities as well if you can.

(This seemed like a good oppurtunity as any to post this, I apologize in advance for the nightmares. )

One of my more 'positive' qualities is that I am a very caring person. Perhaps it has something to do with my personality type, but you can expect me to take damn good care of you if you're ever sick! 'Have you taken your medicine? do you need more pillows? is the TV too loud? can I get you another drink?' Yep, that's me. Then again, depending on the person on the recieving end I suppose that could also be considered a negative quality as well. I'd also like to think I have a good sense of humor, and can generally see the funny side in most situations.

As for a weakness... I can be a very pessemistic person, and give up very easily. Perhaps the thing that holds me back the most in life, is my low self-esteem, which tends to make me assume the worst out of myself.

Being caring can be an amazing quality in a large number of circumstances, though putting yourself before others isn't always a bad idea. I've suffered from low self-esteem (perhaps I still do) and I know how draining it can be. I can vouch for your good sense of humour. We've had some great laughs before.

Hmm, sometimes I'm not so sure about my own strengths and weaknesses. We all have our secrets—I do too—but for the most part I'm a very honest person, sometimes to a fault since I may tell people what they don't want to hear, or generally come across as rude. I'm also really stubborn, which of course can be a positive and a negative.

I'm a rational thinker and I have leadership qualities. Sometimes I can spend too much time concocting the perfect plan, rather than starting at the basics and working towards something better gradually. At school I was known by most of my teachers as a perfectionist. I know that a lot of the time the word sounds like a description of the perfect student, but in some cases it's a very negative thing. I often had an all-or-nothing approach to schoolwork. My coursework/assignments were usually amongst the best, but sometimes I gave up if my odds of making something perfect seemed bleak. Maybe that ties in with self-esteem? I dunno, but I'm trying to avoid that attitude nowadays even though it still happens from time to time, like moving on from projects that seemed like an uphill battle. (Got a little bit of Gene's personality in me there! )

I'm creative and I kick ass at most video games. (I'll admit I've noticed with ageing that I'm getting my ass handed to me in first-person shooters more often.) I have strong passions and ambitions and wish to travel the world. On the flip side though, I need to work harder to achieve those dreams. Unless I create a good and realistic schedule I do procrastinate.

I think that's more than enough for now!
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

@Hari: Caring, I like that. It's a sign of true character.

@Mantis: What was the game that started you on the quest to become this video game virtuoso?

Me? I think my greatest strength is being able to process stress well.
Rarely do things just overwhelm me or become too much to deal with.
Being able to maintain my mental health has certain proven a great asset with all the changes that have come along, especially the last few years.

Weaknesses? I take things too personally a lot of the time, which makes me prone to grudges.
Not a fan of that part of myself. Still, I do my best to let things go, because holding on to anger is just not worth it.

Hrm...While I'm not an organized person in reality, I'm going to make my response in a quasi list format...So I can keep up with myself.

Strengths: I'm an extremely honest person. I find that a good thing...most of the time. I have a usually creative mind can be logical at points (as much as I often hate to admit it). I'm good with wording things, most of the time- at least, when I write. I'm also apparently good at giving perspective when a friend has an issue (they come to me a lot for third party input, because I see both sides apparently). While I don't often see it myself, I'm more on the optimistic side of the spectrum.

Weaknesses: The honesty has some good and bad to it. I can be abrupt and will talk about even the most awkward thing at points that aren't always recommended. While I have a comfort in logic to some degree, I tend to lack 'common sense'. I'm generally obsessive to some degree, especially with words (thus my ability with them)- to the point it actually hindered me in class if a teacher made an error on the board until I got them to fix it. I tend to be indecisive and subdued, and I am an extremely anxious person...and, while I hate stereotypes, I have had more than my share of mood swings (and likely won't change quickly). I'm easily frustrated, but tend to bottle up my frustration until I explode...Oh, and I talk WAY too much. Like right now. xD

Oh. I'm not sure if it's good or bad, but I'm often told I'm way too polite for my own good. Which I find weird. So that's somewhere on the lists too.

    Strengths:
I've always liked traveling. I don't mind going alone and tend to meet people along the way if I'm lucky. If only money weren't such a hinderance. I've also had my hand at a variety of jobs so if I needed one I wouldn't hesitate at applying l. Just these days experience is needed for a lot

Weaknesses: like hari I tend to give up easily so it makes it hard to get back up again. Right now I'm not as positive about the future or when in tight spots. It's just hard to get yourself out of the hole when you're on your own

I could say that I have a thing for teaching or doing training stuff. Way back around 2009, I got involved with a local MLM company, we had to build our team, make sales etc. My weakness was I always had a hard time recruiting people, Since I started with my brother and a friend of mine, I just had two people whom I personally recruited in a span of a year while my brother and my friend always had at least 3 new recruits every month. I did all the training stuff and from three people, our numbers grew, in just a month we were able to fill two buses.

I think my greatest strengths would be that I am a determined and creative person. If I start something then I will get it done no matter what and I will be determined not to give up on something if I struggle with it. This was extremely important to me recently because we were doing coding projects at college and I encountered a problem that I just could not work out how to fix. I spent hours just going through the code and eventually managed to fixed it. My greatest weakness I would say is being lazy. I always put off things, I'll say to myself, "I can do this tommorow". Luckily I'm determined so when I do eventually start something then I do get it done

I'm still in bed while writing this. Probably relevant to thread content.

I also must have missed Asher's question. Probably Sonic the Hedgehog. I was mad about Sonic games as a little kid. For a couple of years from the age of twelve I made a few Sonic games and formed a team with a school friend that we named The Badnik Bandits. We thought it was the coolest shit ever. We didn't really know at the time that our games sucked ass, but we had so much fun making them that I doubt we'd have cared.

MLM? Isn't that one of these things?

    Strengths:

-I tend to be level headed even in an argument with other individuals and when I do get pissed I can usually blow it off rather quickly.

-I can pick up on learning things rather quickly. Such as repairing game consoles or computers, doing woodwork, and even academics.

    Weaknesses:

-I am a visual learner only. If I see it I can do it; you can't tell me to read something on paper with instructions and expect me to perform that task flawlessly.

-I don't have a lot of drive to do things. I dream A LOT and have all these ideas in my head of what I'm going to do but I never persevere to complete it or be gung-ho about it. So I guess another word for this is being lazy?

-I am ALWAYS tired. I can sleep 12 hours straight and wake up only to want to take a nap a few hours later. Not sure why but it's been like this for a while now unfortunately. Might be the old man I am now at the ripe age of 26...

For strengths...well, I feel that I have an agreeable personality where I try to be friendly with everyone. I'm very loyal to my friends and I always make sure to pull my weight. If someone does something for me, then I will want to do something to pay him/her back. I also try to be the voice of reason among my friends and try to be as logical as I can. I also think that my imagination keeps me going and that I have a rather good sense of humor and a bit of a flippant attitude (Which could be positive or negative depending how you look at it)

As for my weaknesses, I either overthink things or don't think enough of it through. I also have a fear of failure and how me screwing up will impact how people see me. I'm also a huge procrastinator that puts off a lot of things until the last minute. If someone is nasty to me, I would dwell on it and have a hard time letting it go. Hell, there are some folks out there who I still hold grudges to this day just because of what they did in the past.
