    Do you know any vegans?

I seem to see a lot of them online but I don't know a single one offline. You get the impression they are all over but they don't seem to be. I am all for them doing their own thing but I am honestly thankful I don't know any of them because of how they act with people who don't choose their lifestyle. I always felt like there was some kind of cult behind it or something, not in the extreme sense but like a "church of we're better than you".

I was a vegetarian for several years so I get not wanting to eat meat but I was not a horrible person to other people who still did when I chose not to.

I haven't had anyone constantly reminding me that they're vegan so I can't say that I have.

Me neither. I've known them before. One of my exes was a vegetarian. I was dragged to some seafood restaurant. Why not some steak instead? While vegetarians aren't so big a deal, at all costs I'd avoid going to a restaurant with a vegan.

What's the deal with meat-free burgers (and other great meats) anyway? If you're so against the slaughter of animals, why are you eating something that (not very well) imitates it, dumbass?
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

One of my coworkers is vegan, and she has 0 of the traits of the vegans that plague the internet. Hell, she hates that the popular vegan fuckers on the internet are so popular. She doesn't want to eat meat, but isn't bothered if others do eat meat. She's a wonderful person, but, sadly, is the rare vegan that is just vegan, and not anti-meat.

Ooh, the Impossible burgers. I think it's supposed to show people that you can eat burgers that aren't made of meat because that would be more humane or some shit.

I used to eat veggie burgers when I was a vegetarian. It wasn't that it was meant to taste like beef, the ones I ate didn't at all. I just liked the taste. I like a lot of vegetables and vegetable style meals though. I prefer a lot of dishes to be vegetarian even now that I am not. Like subs, I like vegetable ones over meat ones. Another example is with pasta dishes like ravioli and lasagna, both I do not like with meat but love with cheese.

I think my favorite meat item is just bbq grilled chicken.

My sister has been a vegetarian since age 12 and it stunted her growth. She's paler than the rest of my pasty white family and shorter than us (we are rather tall, including my Mom). Last month when my sister started college she became Vegan and that is the only thing we have talked about since. She fits all the tropes and stereotypes. Dyed hair, one of those wall-sized rug/tapestries in her room, incense, "I can't eat that", etc.

What's more, she began some sort of reusable/waste-free lifestyle the same day last month. Bamboo toothbrushes, cloth grocery bags, whatever else this fad entails. Her first day at college she made a bunch of friends, which I thought was cool until I found out that all 7 or so of them would have been burned at the stake 300 years ago. I know this is a peak-Boomer comment, but not one of them is "normal" in my concept of the word. They all brag about their obscure food allergies, 2/3 of the guys are gay or whatever label they use for it, one girl is like a dog/wolf/horse-kin and runs around on all fours at home sometimes, and the list goes on and on.

Vegans, the people they attract, and the people they create are some sort of new species. The good thing is, I think I could take all 8 of them down unarmed if they join Antifa or something. Their thyroids will flare up if they have to run more than 10 feet, and I think I could crack their skin by yelling loud enough.
"Out of the ground, raze all greenery with flame! Fire2!"
