    What's your favorite game?

What is your absolute favourite game? Personally, mine is Minecraft or CS:GO, I play CS:GO a lot competetively, but I usually play Minecraft with friends on hypixel or something. I also play Final Fantasy sometimes.

For me TES V: Skyrim takes the cake. I love not only the game, but also the incredible and incredibly active for a 6 year old game community. It has probably the best modding scene of any game to ever have one. There's a mod for pretty much anything you can think of, from outstanding visual overhauls to adding whole new contin

It's not only a great RPG in terms of the customizability of your character and amount of different viable builds but also an amazing world filled to the brim with deep-rooted well developed lore (although this really goes for TES as a series rather than for Skyrim itself).

You could play the base game for hundreds of hours before you run out of content and although quest types really start to repeat after a while, the items and locations involved in those quests are new all the time and you keep discovering new details about the world with every one you complete.

That said, Skyrim is far from being my most-played game (which is probably Minecraft even though I last played it 3 years ago, rivaled only by League Of Legends) but I enjoy my time playing it and love to mod the game before every session. When I play it, I usually do it non-stop for around ten hours at a time.

I have so many so to prevent this post from turning into a novel, I'll talk about 2 that come to mind.

First up is...well, if my Avatar doesn't give it away, Doom. I'm a fan of classical style first person shooters and this series (With the exception of Doom 3, which was more of a horror experience and not a particularly good one IMO) is the big king of them and for good reason. It's the ultimate pick up and play game. If I ever feel bored, I just boot up one of the Dooms and I can play to my hearts content. It has some of the best level design to ever grace the genre, the weapons feel good to shoot and has some of the most iconic, recognizable enemies to grace a video game. It's fast paced, your always on the move and the heavy metal inspired tracks gets your adrenaline going. The game is the ultimate one man army experience. And The Doom Marine is quite possibly the most badass video game protagonist ever. When people mention badass characters, they might mention a Final Fantasy character or Masterchief or whatever but the Doom Marine takes the cake because...well, I think this image can explain it better than I can.

And mind you, this is before he became the one man apocalypse that he turned into in Doom 2016 (One of the best FPS to come out in years if you ask me.). He is proof that you don't need deep character motivation when you have superior fire power and limitless rage.

Speaking of kicking demon ass, another Favorite is the Devil May Cry series (Except for 2 and the reboot. Those were not up to snuff to say the least). One of my favorite genres is the beat 'em ups. Nothing was more fun for me than to beat up hordes of badguys that came your way. What does this have to do with Devil May Cry? Well, when you get down to the, the DMC games (Moreso 3 and 4 but the first one is the same to an extent) are basically beat 'em ups on rocket fuel. It's not simply about beating your enemies, it's about beating them in the most stylish manner that you can. The controls were so smooth and so responsive that you can do cool moves with ease. The beauty of the combat system was that, while it appears simple, there are complex moves that you can pull off that are crazy. If you can master it well, you can do some really crazy shit like this.

Now, I can't do any of this complex shit to save my life but it goes to show that the combat system can be as complex or a simple as you want it to be. It's a game that makes you compete with yourself, trying to top your last playthrough to get a better style ranking. Combine that with fun characters like Dante and cutscenes that have the most batshit insane action to ever and you have yourself a damn good series. There are rumors that Devil May Cry 5 might be happening which I hope is true. We need a good DMC game after that whole reboot debacle.

You could probably guess from my avatar, but I'm also a pretty big fan of the Star Wars Dark Forces games (especially Jedi Outcast), Mega Man X/Legends, Castlevania Symphony of the Night and the Zelda series (especially Link to the Past). I also love God Hand but it's really hard to get into. I used to be really into the Metal Gear Solid series, but I'm kinda over it now.

Favorite of all time? I would have to say Zelda Ocarina of Time. I played that game through quite a few times. I also loved Donkey Kong Country 1,2. Mario 64 was another that is up on my list. Star Fox, basically all of them. More recent games for me has to be Rocket League and Minecraft.

    Very hard to tell.
I'm hesitating between Shogun 2 : total war, Forgotten realms : demon stone, and Princess maker 3.

I meant to reply to this, probably forgot. My favourite game is Final Fantasy VIII which is quite an unpopular choice when compared to its highly-milked predecessor. However, I do think FFVII is an excellent game too and there are plenty of runner-ups, but to me no game has made me feel a greater sense of immersion and had a story more compelling than Final Fantasy VIII. I like some other member choices too. The majority of them I've played and thoroughly enjoyed.

I couldn't get into CS:GO, although I never played the original Counter-Strike or Source much either. I do love a good FPS though and Halo: Combat Evolved is certainly in my top five and Doom in my top ten. (And I've played a damn lot of games.) As with a lot of other FPS games, when I've played CS:GO the kids and angry Russians (it seems this and Dota 2 is all so many Russians play) really bug me. I've also lost the energy for competitive multiplayer FPS. I'm still okay at Doom and Halo but overall I'm not that skilled, whereas I usually won as an adolescent/young adult. I really didn't expect to lose enthusiasm for these games before thirty (I can enjoy that for ten more months) but it's happened.

Single player games are different as you don't have that kind of expectation or pressure, so they'll remain a timeless pleasure of mine. Kinda sucks nearly everything is multiplayer nowadays, but at least some companies still care.

I'm bad at picking favorite anything. But these consistently make my short-list:

Chrono Trigger: I'm in love with everything about this. Perfect blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and anime-styled action. Lucca is best girl.

Banjo-Kazooie: A whimsical, funny, endearing fairytale-esque platform adventure. I love the worlds and the music.

Zelda, Majora's Mask: It's like a dark, melancholy wonderland. I love the world, the characters, the music, pretty much everything about it. When I was in middle school this was my favorite place to escape to.
    Life is demanding, without understanding.

My favorite game would have to be FIFA. I love football more than the air I breathe. I think mostly it's because I love to watch real-life soccer and playing it makes the experience even livelier. I also happen to be a fan of Minecraft because it helps me relax and create new things. It is also pretty adventurous. Final Fantasy comes next on my list and I especially loved the FF9 version.

Mine was, for a long time, Destiny. Not only was I drawn into the nearly every aspect of the lore, gameplay, mechanics, etc., I was locked into that community with an iron grip lol. Three+ years through the good and the bad times. Then Destiny 2 took a nose dive and like an abusive relationship, I had to vacate the situation before I let myself get hurt lol.

Now, Monster Hunter: World is scratching that Destiny itch to an extent, but D1 will always have a place in my heart. I may even still go through with that tattoo idea of getting a ghost shell on my chest, right across from my Gilliam II tattoo lol
