    Talking Worst Restaurant Experience

What was your worst experience eating at a restaurant? It can be because of the food, guests, staff, or any combination of elements.

I thought of this because on Saturday I had dinner at a Korean place with my wife and some friends. I was wearing semi-fancy clothes since we had just come from a formal event. The waiter dude dropped a full bowl of soy sauce/vinegar and decimated my whole outfit, the wall, seats, etc. Somehow the sauce didn't get on anyone but me, although I had it dripping from my hair & the vinegar stung my eyes pretty bad. I laughed it off (i imagined seeing that in third-person and how funny it must have been), but I will always remember that embarrassment and the destruction of an entire formal outfit of nice dress clothes. The food was great though.

The worst food was probably Vietnamese pho. I'm not saying it's bad in general, but this ONE bowl was so bad. It was my first time getting it, so I ordered the #1 on their menu which was Pho Deluxe. It has pig snouts floating in it, organ fat, tripe, and my least favorite seasoning cilantro/coriander. Damn man, I've been all over the world and eaten all kinds of trash, but that one bowl of noodles gave me a thousand-yard stare for like 2 hours trying not to barf it back up. I just drove home in silence and regret.

Oddly enough, I have been really lucky in not having a bad experience at a restaurant. The closest I had was a local pizza joint screwing up my order by giving me a different pizza than the one I ordered. I did have an experience from McDonalds that gave me mad food poisoning that knocked me out of commission. Funny thing was, that happened on the day that I was supposed to start a new job so that was embarrassing.

That happened to my sister too via one of their ice cream cones I think. Gave her a stomach bug for about 3 months and she still has issues related to it. I have an iron stomach and have never experienced something like that, but I presume that once it does happen to me, it'll be so severe that I'll turn into some sort of Resident Evil final boss with big glowing eyeball weakpoints.

I mean if fast food counts, I would say that eating half way down a thing of fries to find chewed bubble gum has to be the worst. I was also a vegetarian for awhile and found meat in my "veggie" omelet.

I don't really do restaurants often (and when I do it's nothing fancy, just a stuff-your-face buffet) so I can't say I've had an experience even remotely terrible or embarrassing. Worst time would be touching one of those small metal hotplates sometimes brought to the table, which keep dishes warm. I was only seven at the time and didn't think what it might be for; it was just a metal slab the size of a book. A couple of blisters and that was my lesson learned.

For what it's worth, I'll just mention this time I was buying a coffee one morning, only for the person serving me to somehow knock it against some object on the counter (I forget what exactly, some promotional sign or similar bollocks), dropping the (paper) cup and spewing boiling coffee all over my fucking feet. Just what I need at 7AM.

Apparently, calling someone a "clumsy fucking prick" even under these circumstances is still uncalled for.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"
