What are some things you would rather do yourself than have others do for you?

There is that old saying "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself".

Keeping that in mind, what are some things you would rather do your self than have someone else do it for you?

Anytime I am sick or something and I need people to help me, I find myself getting frustrated with certain things. Like how to cook certain foods, clean things a certain way, and so on. One of my biggest things I would rather do even if I am in pain or sick is my own laundry. I have a certain soap I use, a certain cycle, and I don't dry a lot of things in the dryer. Most tops and hoodies will be hung to dry and they have to be hung right or they get creases.

Getting drunk would be too obvious.

Nothing really comes to mind, to be honest. Anything related to technology is probably the main thing. I can't stand watching others slowly fumble and choke their way around a PC, for example, even if they're trying to do me a favour.

On a far less serious note, videogame co-op with random "pubbies". I want to strangle some of these players I find online who step up to do something risky for the team, but then waste a load of resources (or just plain fucking die) in the process. For fuck's sake you idiot go back to wandering around in the dark like a cockend while I deal with the <insert high-risk task here>. This has become less of a thing in recent years however, since I tend to stick with the same group for this sort of thing now.

Taking a dump. I mean, I think most people would find it awkward as hell to have someone help you take a shit (Unless you're like, 90 years old or something.)

Anything related to my computer/game room. That stuff is mine, and it's rigged up in such a precarious way that I start sweating if someone else tries to navigate the cables/buttons/switches without me. I'm not picky about handling a lot of things myself because i'm infamously busy in my day-to-day life and would love for someone to step in to assist on 99% of things.

One thing I refuse to do for myself is cook. I don't mean microwaving something or pouring soup out of a can, but that's about where I draw the line. I don't enjoy preparing food, my food isn't as good as other people's, it's boring, and tends to be expensive since I ruin a lot of stuff in the process. I'm bad at it and I recognize that's why I have a hatred of it. I don't mind grilling though, but that's because it's a 50/50 split between cooking and a social activity. I also get away from my wife and house chores for a bit so it's nice. That said, I opt 100% of the time to purchase my food or let someone make it for me, so much so that my family & friends tease me for how clueless I am in the kitchen. Kitchens are for women & peasant-tier men.

I know I'm being an asshat, but I get so much shit from other guys for not cooking that it pisses me off and creeps me out that they care so much.

To cook something, make it hot for a while. I know! I was also amazed when I found this out!

I'd have to say editing lol. I recently started a podcast and my co-host(previously anyways) was doing the editing of our audio. But it was taking forever... and I wasn't sure he knew what I wanted out of it. I'm a control freak when it comes to seeing a vision I came up with come to fruition, so yeah, I'd say editing and content I'd rather do myself lol

Oh, if we're talking "professionally" then I absolutely agree. I wouldn't fucking dream of leaving any aspect of my own projects in someone else's hands, not least when it comes to editing.

Probably why I never thought of it in the first place.
