    Easter eggs

A few of you might be thinking, "Wrong forum, Mantis!" at this point. But...

Of course, I'm referring to video game Easter eggs!

No, no, not those! I am quite peckish now, though, looking at that picture. I have had a bit of chocolate, but right now I sure miss being a kid. Anyway. I'm sure you've caught on by now. I'm talking about those fun extras video game developers add into their games for a laugh, and the pleasure of wondering if the players will end up finding them. Post some of your favourites here. Since I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 2 lately, the Metal Gear series has some of the best Easter eggs. Here are some of my favourites from MGS2. Fun for all the family.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has some ZoE easter eggs.
Fighting through Aliens, Robots, Insane sick people, demons, plants, dragons, fish, squids, jellyfish and more for the good of the forum!

When I play a game, I usually want to see lethal amounts of death and destructive amounts of ruination.

    RE: Easter eggs

Reminds me of the Duke Nukem stuff although that wasn't really hidden lol. I remember that Wolfenstein had a handful of pervy custom maps though, not really an official thing but if you've played PC FPS games for a while, I'm sure you've come across your fair share of "sexy" eggs hidden inside some maps that the makers put in there.

Moving onto other stuff...I thought it was neat when I discovered how to skip certain levels in Super Mario Bros. I believe it was in the 2nd level where you had to deviate from the normal path by going towards the top or something.

I enjoyed finding the random cheese wedges in Perfect Dark many years ago.

Another favourite of mine is the secret room in the popular custom Halo map, Yoyorast Island. Part of the reason is because my name is in the room. Being a beta tester was fun.

Best thing to do to a younger brother. Tell him a super cool Easter egg that doesn't exist in a given game. Friend played that joke on me once.

And of course, way too many EE's in anything from id Software since Wolfenstein 3D. But this one in Doom II particularly makes me laugh:

Simple EE, or a literal display of id Software's desire to move away from such games?
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"
