RE: Obligatory "How did you come about Outlaw Star?"

Heh, the good things that can come from just one comment are quite astonishing. Alas, I heard the UK box set became quite rare. I'm looking it up on Amazon now. Wait... what?! £250?
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

RE: Obligatory "How did you come about Outlaw Star?"

I actually learned about Outlaw Star through childhood. Cartoon Network was the name of the broadcast that it appeared on and I remember that it would usually be shown in the late night hours with some of the other shows that really suited my taste. I found Gene to be my favorite character on the show because he resembled so much of the type of person I am, how he fell in love with an android is beyond me, but I still think he is the reason I gave the series a shot.

RE: Obligatory "How did you come about Outlaw Star?"

It's a fair assumption that almost everyone found out about Outlaw Star while it was being aired on Toonami. I think this conversation popped up elsewhere, but do you think they'll come around to airing it on Toonami again, now that it's come back?
A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

We must remember...all men were once boys.
