    RE: Outlaw Star Memories

    Episode 13
The episode where they all take totally separate jobs but then they're all linked to an evil mind control cactus that sells ice cream! Best filler episode ever.
This is my signature, isn't it great?

Gah, I love the prologues! So beautiful! And that narrator! (Jet from Cowboy Bebop by the way)
    My favorite was always:
    Episode 15 The Seven Emerge
The Shimi one where the narrator says: "If someone were unfortunate enough to make an enemy of the Anten Seven, and forced to fight against them, I would say only this... farewell, friend."
ArGHHH, yes the prologues are awesome

    Episode: Cats, girls, and spaceships
Episode Cats, girls, and spaceships Jim destroys the ship Hanmyo's in, and isnt aware its hers. I swear the last 10 minutes of that episode is the saddest thing...
Oh man, I actually just finished watching that episode. So sad; the sad piano music really kicked in at the right time too .

    Episode 22 Gravity Jailbreak
Watching Gene's awesome jailbreak plan being put into action, and the way he ends up FLOATING out of the planet's orbit was so genius XD

I also thought it was cool when Wong, the man they help break out, tells Gene that the password for his data thingy is the name of his daughter. (You can just tell he's a nice person on the inside, even if he IS a criminal)

    RE: Outlaw Star Memories

Funny how the guy's name is the name of their currency. It's like being called Dollar or Pound. But yeah, that was definitely one of the best episodes.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

    RE: Outlaw Star Memories

i have several fond memories of outlaw star. as a kid, id love watching whenever i could. at the time, it was impossible for me to explain why i loved it. i just did. it appealed to me a way i couldn't put into words if i tried. unfortunately, there were certain things i always had to do on specific days of the week, and they always coincided with when outlaw star was on TV! it infuriated me to no end! but whenever i was actually be able on those days at the right time, it was just all the more sweet. unfortunately, there were episodes i wouldn't get to see until i got the dvds years later.

another fond memory right there: rediscovering outlaw star. after they took it off toonami, i did everything i could to preserve it solely in my memory. no else i knew watched it, so i had no one to talk to about outlaw star to help preserve my memories. but then, at age 11, on an inexplicable impulse, i looked up outlaw star on google without any prompting, and at that moment a fire got relit that has only grown in size since. when my mom agreed to buy me the entire boxset, which was really expensive, without me really even having to explain HOW important it was to me, i felt so much joy that i had the hardest time controlling myself. any happier and i would have been bouncing off the walls LITERALLY! and the best thing was: the box set came in the mail almost a week earlier than i expected.

as for the anime itself, there is one scene that has ALWAYS been ingrained in my memory:

    Episode 8
The first real Grappler Fight in the series. Watching the Outlaw Star rip apart the 3 pirate ships was, and still is, one of my favorite fighting scenes of any anime I've ever seen.
“So here’s the deal. Life doesn’t always wanna be your friend. Sometimes it’ll feel like life wants to hurt you. But you can’t just hide, ‘cause nobody likes a quitter. You’ve gotta take chances. They never said it was gonna be fun, or easy. Whether your totally ready, or when you least expect it, it doesn’t matter: life will punch you right in the face. And you can lie there for a second, cry a little if you need to, but get back on your feet, ‘cause it’s the gettin’ back up that counts. And that’s what shows that you’ve got heart, that’s what helps keep you going. Fall down seven times? Get up eight. And know, we’ll be right there with you.” - T.O.M. (Toonami)
