Thread: Outlaw Star Nexus Changelog

I updated the post view. Now information (below the main info) is stored inside tabs. You can click the tabs to view the shop items a person owns and the likes/thanks/whatever on the third tab. Maybe I'll add more in the future.

And I've got a helluva lot of stuff to catch up on here.

Just chucking more onto the laundry pile...

To do

• Fix the minor outcome inconsistencies in the personality test
• Fix the annoying overuse of commas in the test results (this was an old bad habit of mine and I wrote most of the quiz over five years ago, funnily enough)

Sorry for the small amount of downtime. I'm fiddling a lot with reducing the size of the information above posts. Something went wrong and I had to hit the panic button. But I think I've got it sorted, and probably tomorrow you'll see the avatar/information area reduced in height quite a bit, while still retaining the same information. I'm thinking about getting rid of the "Join Date" as I don't think it's so necessary, but I'm on the fence. Everything else I want to keep.

Decided to abandon my recent awards idea after giving it some thought. After talking to developers to find a way to move awards to under a username so they wouldn't increase the header height, apparently it's not possible. They just won't work when they're clutter. Since achievements never really took off, something that requires some manual work on a member's part is probably more effort than it's worth. So, hmm, back to the drawing board. Some people like the shop so I could draw more sprites, but wong hasn't been seen as a good feature since Outlaw Star UK.

Nearly every effort to promote OSN has failed. It either costs money and doesn't end up improving activity, or it costs time and doesn't end up improving activity... but it can't be helped I guess.

Was looking into installing Ajax Chat which Wanderer suggested. It's something I added to Outlaw Star UK a whole ten years ago. I didn't have it enabled all the time but it was pretty popular when active. However, a decade later I'm having trouble getting it to run on different forum software. Maybe I can sort it out at some point. It's a load of hassle for a feature I doubt many will use.

Will maintain a more thorough changelog when my Outlaw Star time isn't just need to be spent on general site administration and projects.

Excluded diaries (Inn Toward the Stars) from hottest threads at the bottom of the index. They're obviously more personal threads and will often have a higher reply count. I'd rather see them replaced with threads that have aged better.
