Kill la Kill started kinda boring. It came in to its own once Satsuki started making her moves.

I’d be too worried that Sunrise’s priority would be “how do we make this exactly like Outlaw Star used to be?” and I don’t want that. Outlaw Star’s cast was full of high energy characters, but the action was limited by the times. Trigger are dumb enough to take the characters and be innovative. I want to see how they would animate the caster gun. I want to see Trigger animate fights for Aisha and Suzuka. I want to see Trigger animate the damn grappler ship battles.

On the other hand Outlaw Star is a seinen and it wouldn't fit the shonen mold. So a reboot would be best handled by a company that has made anime like Outlaw Star.

    Such as...

    ...Sunrise?

Oh yeah, If I had to pick someone to do it, I would definitely prefer the OG's, Sunrise! But when it comes to Trigger, It's not necessarily the battle formula from Kill la Kill that I was talking about when it comes to Outlaw Star. It's more of the absurd animation that's super over the top as well as the fact that it does not take itself seriously at all! I always saw Outlaw Star as a crazy fun show, and I think Trigger can bring a lot of that HIGH ENERGY that Kill la Kill had. I mean, just imagine a Grappler Ship fight with their crazy animation.

I totally agree with you though when it comes to the shounen formula in Kill la Kill though, but I've learnt to appreciate shows that are a bit shallower you know? With some shows, it's just fun to turn your brain off and enjoy the party. I definitely like the Seinen style of Outlaw Star more though, especially the humor that felt geared for adults as well as some of the slower scenes where Gene is just sitting at night thinking to himself. As far as I'm concerned, I can enjoy both styles, theres always room for both.

You kidding me? A Studio Trigger take on Outlaw Star would be a lot of fun if done right and don't do a straight faced "Darling In The FranXX" type show. I loved Studio Trigger since they have a kind of anarchic, batshit style so it'd be interesting to see them do a crazier, zanier Outlaw Star show in their signature style. And come on, we might even get Inferno Cop to cameo in the show. How can you say no to that?

They actually did this with Hunter x Hunter. They made a reboot and simply named it Hunter x Hunter 2011. I liked the latest one better between the two. So my answer is yes, I'm open to a reboot.
