    Toonami bringing it back.

So just saw today that Toonami is bringing back Outlaw Star. Say they are re-premiering it on August 19th at 2:30 in the morning. Don't know about you guys but I'm excited, not because I can watch it (I've got the DVD collection), but because I feel this will open up a whole new generation to this amazing work of art. This will keep Outlaw Star relevant for at least another few generations to come, if not mainstream, at least the cult following will grow bigger. What are your guys' thoughts?

I wish it could have been given a better timeslot, 2:30 in the morning won't gather much of an audience.

There's another thread about this so I'll merge them. Damn, I can't believe that timeslot. I can't understand why they've been promoting this a lot when few people will watch it. Not many stay up that late. Then again, looking at Toonami's total schedule times, starting at 12AM is kinda shitty anyway. I'll be honest and say I don't feel like I'm missing much.

Might have to set a recording for this so I can snag all of the edited episodes! It's always a trip to see these episodes and as much as I love the unedited editions of things more, there is a ton of nostalgia with the Toonami Edits.

Edits? At that time I'd have thought it would be vanilla uncensored Outlaw Star, unless I'm missing something. I've been looking for the censored episodes for a long time and only managed to get the first Cartoon Network episode from the internet archive. Plus, if they're going down the censored path they'd have to skip Tenrei. Anyway, if this really is the case recordings would save me a lot of time as I'm creating a section on my new Outlaw Star site about the various edited versions. (What I can do with that is rather limited though with only the first episode in the most god-awful VHS quality.)

Well kids like to stay up late. I did xD. Would be cool to see more expansion of the universe in the future. Still haven't watched angel links

I don't have cable myself anymore, but I think it's ultra cool that they're putting OS back up on Toonami. As has been expressed elsewhere across the net and on this very forum, when it comes to OS and Toonami you can't truly have one without the other (at least, speaking for us stateside), and NO ONE--even if they didn't watch OS--who remembers the original Toonami doesn't associate the two with each other.

We got Toonami back, and now OS on the lineup. It feels like an overdue homecoming.

This'll also be cool because maybe, just maybe, there'll be a few youngins who're watching Dragon Ball Super or Naruto or AOT who'll get introduced proper to Gene and the crew.

I am glad Toonami is going back to its roots. I used to LOVE it but they hardly play the things I enjoy. I guess because most of them have finished and have been finished for many years. Either way, I hope some people who have never watched it get a chance to enjoy it.
