Now that I've been talking about the Patreon I may as well clear up the medical stuff and how it impeded progress. So as said in the first reply I'd been waiting years for that major surgery. At the last minute, cancelled in March 2018. Oddly, it was kind of a blessing in disguise because if that operation had gone ahead there's a high chance that I wouldn't have been around to accept Zemekis' offer to help with the project.

We did have a few months of inactivity but we'd made considerable headway, from near the end of the first volume and to the end of the second. So then in May last year out of the blue that surgery was finally scheduled. During my absence Zemekis and a member of this forum were able to get through a couple of updates.

We'd made some of our best progress in the few months leading up to May so I was very eager to get back to it, but after the surgery I was urged by my doctor to avoid any sort of work, "even hobbies" until 2020 while I recuperated. There's been a bit of a drought because of this as I didn't want to act against my doctor's wishes.

So now we're at 2020. I was really excited for this year's progress and basically told Zemekis that this would be THE YEAR for Outlaw Star content. Then in early January I had to deal with some terrible news. (Give me a fucking break, life.) Then came the coronavirus which has disrupted a lot of people's lives in general. So, a rocky start, but I'm now confident that this will be an amazing year for the Outlaw Star fanbase. That would be the few people that use this forum, those that know of (or back) my Patreon, but not the millions of Outlaw Star fans who have never heard of OSN. It is what it is I guess.

Indeed it was my mistake about the European release. I didn't see that it was an older post.

I don't think anyone was insinuating that this work could be done soon. The remaining pages (as you mentioned) are a lot.

It seems like you & zemekis got the translation part covered.

Will this BIG release be avialable to everyone or will it only be on the leyline/patreon?

Hopefully 2020 will be the year for OS!

Everybody. It will be going on YouTube as it's a video release. Like, subscribe, click the bell for notifications, buy my merch and wash my dishes. In all seriousness, of course I'll also make a thread here for it, but just keep your eyes peeled as I'll be working hard to make sure it's out either today or tomorrow since Corona-chan's giving me some leeway at the moment.

You'll be happy to know that translation of the manga has resumed as well! I'm shifting our paid translator's focus to the Light Novel and my wife and I are handling translations of the manga for now. 5 pages got done today. I won't be doing day by day updates or anything, but I'm hoping to work on it with her (she's Japanese, not me!) a little bit each evening at least until we have a decent buffer of translated material. Then it's back to the typesetting grind for Mr. Mantis.

That said, his current project is huge and Mantis is producing it very quickly all on his own so hopefully he takes at least a few days for a break once that releases this weekend.

Sadly that grind restarted over a week ago! Something else took special priority as I can get out of the door today.

Maybe a day. The manga's pretty important right now. I'd like to help give the many of us in self-isolation some reading material.
