I know a few people who tried them coffee cokes and they all say that the caramel one is the only good one and even then, it is not that great. They also complained about having pretty bad stomach aches after drinking them. So there is that. And yeah, I stopped buying coke (previously my favorite soda) when the prices started going up and since they did the whole "be less white" thing, they lost my business completely. I won't buy any of their other brands either. I started drinking some off-brand cola when I want it and it is pretty close to the same flavor so I am fine with this.

Lucky you. Here in Britain literally the only full-sugar sodas available are Coke and Pepsi, and the energy drinks Red Bull and Monster.

There's no point in drinking off-brand cola here because it's always essentially diet cola masquerading as sugary cola. (Which usually tastes like ass comparatively.) They greatly reduce the sugar content (often swapping most of it with aspartame/other crap) so they can manufacture it on the cheap.

While to some it's arguably a good thing that people have restricted access to full-sugar soda, even if you want it just in moderation you're now limited to Coke and Pepsi. The way I see it, all of these nanny state changes are bullshit because the "healthier" fruit juices have just as much sugar as the soda did, if not more. No limits on those. But there's always Pepsi if you want to boycott Coke, which was always the cool kids' drink anyway.

Soda is perceived as unhealthy. Because it is. But as you said, Mantis, fruit juices can be just as bad.
Even something that purports itself as good for you like Vitaminwarer has 27g of sugar. Nowhere near as bad as sodas, but that's still a lot.
A 12 oz. Bottle of Gatorade has 48g of sugar.
That's (I think) about 77 of sugar per 20 oz.
That's more than a 20oz bottle of Coke.
But Gatorade is seen as this really good drink because it replaces electrolytes. And I'm sure it's good for that, but that much sugar can never be good.

Speaking of stupid soda flavors, Coke has Coke Cinnamon. Which I tried out of curiosity. It tasted exactly what I thought. Coke with cinnamon. I have no idea why that was a thing, but I guess they got my to buy one, so it worked.

I actually saw something about the juices for kids being just as bad if not worse than soda in the UK. It was insane. Like we have tons of junk in America but we do have legit healthier options that you can clearly see are healthier. I think marketing really screwed people over and a lot of people fall for clever wording and thinking they are being healthy about something when they are not. The brand that I drink is a Walmart brand, ironically enough. I am cutting back on it though. I used to only drink soda a few times a week and then I started drinking it daily. Now I only drink it on the weekdays, just one can per day (so 5 cans a week) The rest is all water. Eventually, I will get back to only drinking it once or twice a week as a treat like I used to.
