Thread: Weekend Get-Together

Should I try again before this weekend is over, or should I leave you flakers in charge next weekend?

Sorry for not planning this in advance. I had a bunch of stuff going on this weekend...mainly things involving a lot of alcohol so I'm recovering from that. I've got nothing going on next weekend so that should work better for me.

While I don't know whether I'll have plans on Saturday or Sunday, I'm pretty sure I'll be free on one of those days.

That should work out to. I'm down for games or anything really. If you want, we can watch the third episode of Keanu's Bizarre Adventure.

Spent Friday (and will spend some of Saturday) at my family's, so I'll be free tomorrow night or Sunday night. I guess in East USA time (guess it varies between you two) I'd watch a film at 8PM (1AM here) at the latest or maybe a little earlier if it's a long film.

Well this was a satisfying get together. I missed out on Saturday (My fault since I ended up sleeping most of the day) but I made up for it by hanging out with Mantis to watch Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. I've never seen it and admittedly, I remember avoiding it when it first came out since the hipster vibe kind of turned me off but after watching it, I have to say it's a mighty fine movie. I wouldn't say it's Edgar Wright's best movie (That award goes to Hot Fuzz) but it's a movie that has a lot of creative flourishes to it and has a lot of genuinely funny moments.

Anywho, anyone up for this coming weekend? I know my friend wants to take me to a music festival this Friday so that's out of the cards so it'll have to be Saturday or Sunday if I end up getting too hung over.

Glad you liked it! I'll be out on Sunday, so that's not an option for me. Saturday works. Games, films, anime...

Speaking of which, we quit Outlaw Star early, but now that I've got all the censored Toonami episodes, maybe we could restart with Zemekis. Despite being crappy VHS recordings I thought you might enjoy the unadulterated nostalgia.

I think I would be good on Saturday. I wouldn't mind picking up where we left off on OLS but I wouldn't be too hyped for restarting it yet again. I've restarted it 4-5 times this year and as usual, never got past episode 8 or so. It's shocking how much more I know about the first 8 episodes than the remainder of the series. I'll likely have people over at my place, but I can't keep turning you guys down so I'm going to try to swing both as I have done in the past, and something like OLS is agreeable to everyone I would ever spend time with in person. I'm not much of a movie person, so neither are my friends and that's usually a lot harder for me to swing when they're coming by. Starting later = better for me, I doubt I would be able to do anything whatsoever before 8pm EDT on Saturday at the absolute earliest, fyi. Y'all can always start without me and leave me the stream room name & password on Steam/Skype.

I'm trying to get my body clock back in order again. Unfortunately, I hate to say it but I can't afford to chance waiting around after that time. Ideally, I'd like to go to bed sooner than usual. I think Starwind55 is also eager to watch the third John Wick, so I guess we'll probably end up watching that. If I know his schedule better I can plan ahead.
