Frankly, it should be up to each state to decide, not the fed gov. It's a states rights issue, as are so many others. The founders never intended the federal government to control the day to day activities and choices of the individual.

It was intended to be a source of protection for the "several states." The people have far more power that way, since they have more control over local politicians. Plus, if you disagreed with what the majority in your state decided, you could leave for another state instead of an entirely new country to get what you wanted.

Legalization of weed is okay with me, laws must be made regarding the minimum amount you can legally carry and number of plants you can grow at home. Well I haven't really seen anyone who used ganja then went out and massacred a bunch of people, but I did see a lot of people who used meth or coke who either died while on it or killed someone. Weed isn't really dangerous, get baked and see for yourself if you can even think of killing an insect, hell you can't even move away from the couch LOL!

I can agree that natural marijuana is okay and I know a lot of people that smoke it and I am fine with it. I don't consume any kind of opiate to be honest. But there are a lot of people that are mixing marijuana with other bad stuff and they get the "skanks" which are bad. If marijuana was sold naturally and under supervision, it would probably be okay but like this, not so much. Other drugs of course, definitely no.

We have hypocritical governments all over. They will outlaw things like marijuana because they do not benefit directly from them but will legalise alcohol and khat. This is because the latter gives them much revenue. In my country, for instance, many government officials have shares in the alcohol producing firms. They will, therefore, protect alcohol by all means. I would say that if it is legalising they should to all drugs. If it is outlawing it should apply to all.

I think certain drugs should be legalised because most of them are literally harmless. I'm sure that cigarettes and alcohol can be a lot more damaging to peoples health and wellbeing than most drugs like weed. I really don't see why the government has made it illegal because it's probably good for them. It saves police a lot of time because they don't have to worry about any drug operations to find drug dealers or have to waste time bringing in small time drug users to put them in jail. It also creates an extra stream of revenue for the government through taxes which means they can spend that money on improving other things such as education or hospitals.

Firstly, heres my opinion. Personally I believe all natrual/herbal "drugs" should be legalised. I don't believe the government should have the power to outlaw a plant. To me, a drug is something that you have to produce or modify chemically, such as pills, powders and liquids.
If you could be a little more specific in the actual natural/herbal drugs you are referring to, it would be easier for me to drop my candid point of view. If you are referring to marijuna, because from my analysis of your post it seems it's what you are driving at but I would say even if it's a drugs in its natural sense, it's consumption without check is very inimical to ones health.

I have witnessed over 5 different individual that marijuna consumption have driven mad and are currently in psychiatric homes. So, I ask if government should legalize such natural or herbal drug consumption, what would be the fate of the people especially youths?
