I doubt I'll have a legacy, but I can hope that I'll be able to help others enough that their memories with me would be warm, but painful.
When we die, it can affect more than just those closest to us. Seeing their name just once can create a connection. I think rather than worry about how I'll be remembered, I prefer worrying about making connections last....because my memory is fragile anyway. I've forgotten myself enough for many people to come.

If nothing else I want to be remembered by my ability to consume inhuman quantities of the cheesy stuff. Pizza Hut better have a memorial ready for when I pass, or I'll haunt them forever. (~x_x)~

I want to have a legacy. That can come in forms of wealth, prestige, family, or inspiration.

I for one want to have a legacy through my children to testify I was on this planet and I contributed to making life.

This is one of the only things that motivates me in life. Having my father die at a young age I quickly realized how fast people move on and forget, unfortunately to some it really is like they never existed as they leave no stamp on this world or creation other than maybe an offspring which will outlive them, but who's memories will continually distort and eventually fade away with age.

Even though it's a bit of a foolish goal I desperately want to create something in my lifetime that outlasts me in some way. At the same time I'm also pretty pessimistic about things and assume life on Earth may inevitably just die out leaving all my accomplishments pointless anyway. I guess for now I'm still a little conflicted on the subject, I realize it's mostly human nature that makes me romanticize things but without that I may lose my spark to create. I guess it's just finding and maintaining a balance.

I sure as hell won't be having kids, so I'll need to find other ways to be remembered. I wouldn't fault anybody for deciding to have kids, but I'd rather enjoy my time on this planet with the freedom of independence, which doesn't necessarily mean being on my own. But with a like-minded person, we could do things on our own terms. With children I don't think that would be an option, but I suppose I'm digressing as it's something for another thread. I do enjoy reading others' views on this though, since memory is something we often take for granted, so hearing the ways others wish to be remembered is refreshing in a sense.

I'm confident that I'm on the path to creating something great. It's unlikely I'll be a Hideo Kojima, but more so than creating a legacy, I want to make things hundreds of thousands of people enjoy for at least a few hours. That's at least thirty-five years of gameplay. I'd rather care about the present than the future, and what I will experience during my time left here.

    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I am pretty content with just fading to black and no one ever thinking about me again, would be much happier that than other outcomes.

The path to any sort of long lasting fame would generally involve situations and scenario's that I would not really enjoy or find fulfilling. Then there is the potential for infamy and much darker things to actual be remembered for and with enough fame and notoriety i think it can be easier to go either way. Power Corrupts.

On the issue of kids and a legacy, personally see it as a waste of time. There are families having like 20 odd kids on tax payer money, so in paying taxes at least you are paying for breeders to continue the human race to some degree.

Mantis make a huge statue that says remember me! Kinda like what Bender did in an episode from Futurama.

You already have snow? Are you in Colorado?

..currently, I think I'm likely to be remembered for constant badmouthing of where I'm from and for even worse puns. Oh, and asking weird smell related questions. (Example: Do snow cones have a scent?)
